Journals of the Entomological Society of America

5 Entomological Society of America journals are part of the 2015 Oxford Journals Collection.*

American Entomologist is a quarterly magazine that publishes articles and information of general entomological interest. Feature articles cover subjects of a broad interest to amateur and professional entomologists.

Annals of the Entomological Society of America especially invites submission of manuscripts that integrate different areas of insect biology, and address issues that are likely to be of broad relevance to entomologists. Articles also report on basic aspects of the biology of arthropods, divided into categories by subject matter: systematics; ecology and population biology; arthropod biology; arthropods in relation to plant diseases; conservation biology and biodiversity; physiology, biochemistry, and toxicology; morphology, histology, and fine structure; genetics; and behavior.

Environmental Entomology publishes reports on the interaction of insects with the biological, chemical, and physical aspects of their environment and is divided into the following sections: physiological

ecology, chemical ecology, population ecology, community and ecosystem ecology, insect-symbiont interactions; biological control — parasitoids and predators, biological control — microbials, biological control — weeds, behavior; pest management, sampling, plant-insect interactions, molecular ecology and evolution, transgenic plants and insects.

Journal of Economic Entomology publishes articles on the economic significance of insects. Readers include entomologists (both professional and amateur), and appeals to professionals in wide-ranging fields including environmental science, plant science (botany/horticulture), biology, medicine, veterinary science, and more.

Journal of Medical Entomology publishes research related to all aspects of medical entomology and medical acarology, including the systematics and biology of insects, acarines, and other arthropods of public health and veterinary significance.

Federation of European Microbiological Societies

5 Federation of European Microbiological Societies’ titles are transitioning to OUP in 2015.

FEMS Microbiology Ecology provides a significant contribution to fundamental and applied aspects of all areas of yeast research. Papers can deal with culturable and unculturable forms of any type of microorganism: bacteria, archaea, filamentous fungi and yeasts, protozoa, algae or viruses.

FEMS Microbiology Letters publishes articles that merit urgent publication by virtue of their originality, covering biotechnology; environmental microbiology and plant-microbe interactions; eukaryotic cells, evolution, taxonomy and typing; genetics and molecular biology; genomics and bioinformatics; pathogenicity including veterinary microbiology; and physiology and biochemistry.

Pathogens and Disease aims to publish outstanding primary articles, short communications, and reviews reporting on hypothesis- or discovery-driven studies relating to pathogens, the host pathogen interaction, the host response to infection, and their molecular and cellular correlates. Pathogens include all eukaryotes, prokaryotes and viruses that infect humans, including zoonotic pathogens.

FEMS Microbiology Reviews publishes reviews dealing with all aspects of microbiology that have not been surveyed recently. Reviews are devoted to topics of current interest and provide comprehensive, critical and authoritative coverage; new perspectives and critical, detailed discussions of significant trends in the areas being reviewed; and may contain elements of a speculative and selective nature.

FEMS Yeast Research has a broad coverage, publishing both fundamental and applied research on conventional and non-conventional yeasts and yeast-like organisms. The journal addresses genome sequencing and annotation; functional and comparative genomics; cell biology, structure, function and signalling aging and apoptosis; molecular biology and genetics; physiology and systems biology; industrial microbiology, metabolic engineering; heterologous protein production and secretion; evolution, ecology, biodiversity and taxonomy; fermented foods and beverages; and clinically important yeasts, virulence and resistance.

* 3 additional ESA journals are transitioning to OUP as open access titles in 2015: Arthropod Management Tests, Journal of Insect Science, and Journal of Integrated Pest Management.
