We are currently seeking physicians and nurses for the summer of 2006. Do you know of anyone who might like to be a camp doctor or nurse? Nurses are needed for a mini-mum stay of three weeks while doctors need to be available for a minimum of one week. Families can be accommodated. Please call the office if you know anyone that might be inter-ested.

Fondly,

Ron & Barbara

IN THIS ISSUE

Do you know someone that might make a great staff member at French Woods? We always welcome your recom-mendations. Especially needed are strong sports and tennis staff, musical directors, instrumental musicians, skilled artists, technical theatre staff and nurses. Please call us in the winter office at 1(800)634-1703 if you know of anyone and we will be happy to forward them the appropriate application forms and information. With many of your favorite staff returning we are hoping to make the staff of 2006 the best ever.

In response to the many phone calls we have received please mark these dates: June 25th and 26th, July 15th and 16th, August 4th and 5th, and August 25th & 26th. Visiting on the first of each two day period begins immediately after lunch, about 2 PM. The second day of visiting begins at 11 AM. Visitors will NOT be allowed on the grounds before these times. Parents may NOT bring picnic dinners or any other food to share with their children at camp. Parents and visitors are welcome to eat in our dining hall but under no circumstances are campers permitted to leave the grounds. Should you wish to attend any other performance during the summer please call the camp so that we know you are coming. You may arrive at 6 PM for dinner in the dining hall. Picnics and other food items are NOT permitted during these visits. If you are in need of accommodations please call the winter office and we will be happy to provide you with names and phone numbers to contact.

As you read this Performer, Barbara and I have just returned from camp. There’s a lot of interesting stuff going on! Say goodbye to boys senior lodge 3&4. The boys campus has been rearranged to absorb the building that had been girls 1 is now boys 7. The girls in girls one have a brand new lodge with it’s own play room. Wait until you see it. It’s incred-ible! The new multi-task recording studio has been equipped. Not only do we have a space for orchestral performances, but now each of our shows can be recorded in concert as well as large musical groups. Registration is just unreal. Please note the following: We are now almost 70% filled. In the next newsletter we will be forced to announce the

closing of many sessions by age. Give us a call or return your regis-tration before you are closed out. We would love to have you join us in 2006!

max arvor caught up with anton Hermansson at home in Sweden to reminisce about the summer of 2005. max will be getting his Masters degree in Kosovo. He is also planning a trip to Australia and New Zealand to visit with friends from camp in December. Dominique Kofod saw New York City, Mexico, Costa Rica, Miami, Washington and LA on her post camp travels. She says: “Camp was one of the best experiences of my life.” Karen Thomond has already had a visit from Lee Dunbar and marnie Docker who have stayed with her for a week. She also often sees adam Trish as they live very close to each other. michael mccall is back in Perth Australia directing The Treatment, by Martin Crimp. He has hired Kristen Twynam-Perkins to do the choreography. Next up, he will be directing A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen. at Curtin University, where he is also teaching classes in acting technique. Steve Crane and Shara Varvaro began their travels with mike and Bronwyn Baker. They start off traveling in the United Kingdom, and then head on to South Africa. They will end up working in mike & Brons circus program in New Zealand before returning to camp in 2006! matt Herrman and Cassie Pascoli visited with Carolyn Stock in Chicago before driving cross county to California. Knowing them, I’m sure their trip was full of misadventures! Cassie is now back in Australia work-ing in a costume house in Sydney.

Hi everyone! As of November 1, 2005 there are only 221 days left until Session 1. Whomever I speak with can hardly wait. So many of you, had such a wonderful summer. I’m back to coaching Joey’s travel basketball team. We are using the fall league to prepare us for the winter and spring leagues. When the season ends, shortly before camp starts, we will have played 50 to 60 games. Hopefully we will win a few. I was also offered a job coaching at the Coral Springs Charter School in Coral Springs. It’s going to be a busy year for me. By the way, I carry, 14 players on my Travel team, at least 10 are joining us at French Woods this coming summer. I spent some time in Charlottesville, Virginia, where my son Josh is doing an orthopedic fellowship and is now working with the U. of Virginia football team which recently beat #4 Florida. I’ve enjoyed the time I spent with my grandchildren Teddy, 3, and Lilly, 1. I can’t wait for them to become French Woods campers. My daughter-in-law, Lynn, is due again with child number three, sometime in February. I don’t know how she does it, caring for the family while working full time. My daughter Jen, is six months away from applying for a Assistant Principal’s job in NYC. Kathy, the kids, and I have had a busy post camp so far. We all went to Tucker Caploe’s Bar Mitzvah. What a great party that was. The circles the Caploe’s run in are the most fun ever. At the end of the evening, Tucker’s mom had Paul Schaefer playing for her and other professionals and singing up a storm to Ellie Greenwich’s doo wop numbers. Even Tucker got to sing with Paul’s accompaniment. Godfrey Cambridge introduced the acts. It was an impromptu pleasure. I spent a good part of the night with Mr. Pager and Mr. Weinstein, Dylan’s dad and Alexandra’s dad, respectively, we were keeping track of the Yankee score and talking golden oldies music. Kathy and Mrs. Weinstein and Mrs. Pager were very understanding. I also had a chance to spend some time with the Seltzer’s who, not only have the nicest kids (Joel and Julian) but are also wonderful French Woods parents. The list of parents and children at this gala goes on and on. There was Max Federman at Schul. There was Sophie Lavine, Emma Smelkinson, Graham Martin, Adam Ziering, Hali Garber, Remy Geller, Joleen Spivack, and of course, Brittany Champey, Joey Champey, and Erin Champey. We even spent some time with Max and Ben Zander and their parents, who stopped by late, after attending a previous affair in the City. It was great to see everybody but I’m sure I left out some people as well. Brittany got to crash at Danielle Shechtman’s house while she was in town for Tucker’s affair. Magic Al Garber, Hali’s dad, who’s an incredible magician in his own right, sent a close-up magician to entertain the kids and adults at Tucker’s. The guy was great and kept the kids and the parents, interested and busy. For those of you who had the pleasure of meeting my Golden Retriever, Brandy, she asked me to say hi to all of the children who came to use my phone and played with her. She misses you and is looking forward to seeing you all again next summer. Brandy recently had some laser eye surgery, but she is doing great. She won’t need glasses or contacts now. Venus our nurse spent the night with us last month. That is to say Venus, Ray, her husband, and Josh and Ryan, spent the weekend at the end of September. Last week they surprised us and brought Nick and Tim Duggan, to our home to visit with the kids. Our tennis program was a big success, thanks to the efforts of Nick and his staff. KathyandBrittanyareagainflyingofftoNewYorktoattendtheBatMitzvahofRandiOlannextweek.Again, anotherbigFrenchWoods reunion.

Kathy and I will be in Boston, at the Newton Marriott for a camp fair the weekend of November 4-6. The fair is on Sunday the 6th. If you’re interested in visiting with us, give us a call and stop by. We would love to see our Mass. friends. B e t h B a c k s t a g e As you can see we have put together a tentative show schedule for the summer of 2006. We are planning some very exciting new shows and, as always, we will have several making their French Woods debut this sum-mer. We have been in contact with many of you and have taken several of your suggestions into account. I think that the show selection is particularly good this year. It should be a great summer in 2006! We have started sending out returning counselor invitations for the 2006 season and it looks as though we will have quite the fabulous staff. There will be many returning staff mem-bers and we have started the drive to recruit new staff from all over the country and, as always, all over the world. Things are busy in the French Woods office these days! I hope school is going well & I look forward to seeing you all next summer! Sincerely,

Beth
