BOWLING CLUB BUSY BEE: for all male members on Sunday 24th September commencing at 9am. Ladies busy bee will be held on Thursday 28th September commencing at 10:30am (following Stay Active). Could all members please make every effort to attend their respective busy bees to ensure our clubhouse and surrounds are prepared for the 2017/18 season. Thank you. SPORT & REC WAMENUSKING SPORTS CLUB: New tennis and archery season is approaching. Starting Thursday 28th September, 3:00pm and 5:30pm. Same place, same time, same rules and same grumpy old arch scrounger. BOWLING CLUB OPENING DAY: will be held on Sunday 1st October. This event will be a Mixed 3’s event commencing at 1pm and kindly sponsored by the Quairading Co-op. Names to Captains Steve Wilton (96 451 116) or Phyllis Brown (96 451 245). Team names may also be written on whiteboard outside or sheet in Clubhouse. Please provide a plate of ‘nibbles’ to share. BOWLS COACHING CLINIC: A coaching clinic with Peter Bowden and Alan Booth will be held on Monday 2nd October for all men and lady members, both beginner and experienced players. It is proposed that two sessions will be held: 10:30am – 1pm and 2pm– 4:30pm, with an evening session offered for questions/answers, if interested. There may be a small charge to offset expenses (still to be decided). A great opportunity to ‘upskill’ for the season ahead. No need to register, just turn up and join in! LADIES BOWLS OPENING DAY: will be held on Tuesday 3rd October. Names in by 1.30pm with play to commence at 2pm. Bring a friend and a plate of afternoon tea please. MEN'S GOLF REPORT: Last weekend was our club championships playoffs, with K Johnson winning club champion & G Logan winning nett champion (& everything else) for the year. This weekend is the Men's v's Women's challenge - stableford completion, with the women's team taking honours last year for the first time so the men will be out to rectify this. LADIES GOLF: Wed 20/9 results Sharon Richards trophy won by Fay Minchin, runner-up Di Wallwork. NTP #1 A. Johnson, longest in #9 D. Wallwork, NTP #12 F. Minchin, longest putt #18 J. Johnston. Next week is closing day, trophy presentation and wind-up. Names in by 11.30am, only 9 holes so it would be great to have everyone playing for the last Wednesday golf day for 2017 and stay on for dinner.
