I had so much fun at the Family Bowling Night last Saturday! It was nice to see Fr. Chris and Fr. Victor join in on the action. Thanks for the support. I can’t wait for next year. Gosh, May 6 th already! Only a month left of school. Time flies when you are a first year principal. Or having fun? You know the saying. I am nervous and excited for the end of year. There are a lot of changes that will occur over the summer, but, remember, change is fantastic! May 12 th is our last general PTG meeting. I know you will get more information from the PTG Corner, but I just want to remind all parents that your involvement in your child’s school is very important. Without your participation, there is no way St. Pius X School can accomplish its mission or enact its vision. Please consider volunteering for a position on the PTG Board or as one of the Committee Chairs. Your assistance is needed And who can forget the Art and Variety Show!!!! Again, it is on the 12 th . That is next Thursday! The students, Mrs. Patacsil and Mrs. Dixon are working together to produce a spectacle not to be missed! I almost forgot to mention the display of Art work by your very own children. Please, come join us as we enjoy an evening of information, art, and delightful entertainment. Catholic Schools Night at the Padres is tonight. Before, I hoped everyone who wanted to go got their tickets. Now I am praying that the rain will subside and the game will go on! Man, do I make bunch of requests. Dear St. Pius Parents and Guardians, I am writing to ask you to volunteer some time to hear the portfolio presentations of the Class of 2016 on Monday, May 9, and/or Tuesday, May 10, from 8:30-12:30 and 1:00-2:30. The students will share how they meet the SLEs of our school using their own unique, God-given talents; they will share a PowerPoint and a Mission Statement with additional evidence. I hope you can help us. I believe there are still openings. Please indicate the day(s) and time(s) you are available. Thank you, Mrs. Russell The Patriot May 6, 2016

Gosh, May 6th already! Only a month left of school. Time flies when you are a first year principal. Or having fun? You know the saying. I am nervous and excited for the end of year. There are a lot of changes that will occur over the summer, but, remember, change is fantastic!

We still have room in some of our classrooms. Spread the Gospel about St. Pius X School. No one can sell the school better than you!

We have a few remaining seats left in our newly formed Transition Kindergarten class. If you are considering this opportunity for your child, please contact as soon as possible!

How are you children doing in their classwork? Have you visited Gradelink lately?

EAST COAST TRIP with Mrs. Patacsil: June 12-171, 2017! NEXT SUMMER!

I am looking forward to Saturday afternoon when our second grade class receives First Holy Communion. Mrs. Dohman has prepared them well. This will mark their second Sacrament of Initiation. Congratulations to all the students and families. You are in my prayers.

This Sunday is Mother’s day. I hope everyone has made plans to make their mom feel extra special. We all need to take the time and reflect on all the wonderful things our mothers have done and always do for us. If we counted the good deeds, the compassionate hugs, the well timed kisses on the forehead and cheeks, or even the loving corrections to our behavior, there would be no end to our endeavor. We would be counting “until eternity passes us by.” (Little homage to Jim Croce – well stated.) I pray that all of our mothers will be treated like the queens they are. Placed on a high pedestal and adored, if only for one day. We all realize they deserve any, and all praises and love, we can pour onto them. Mr. Turskey

PTG Corner

May 6, 2016 We hope everybody had a great time at last week’s Bowling Night event. Thank you to everyone who took the time to be a part of this fundraising effort. Special recognition goes out to the Bowling committee for all of their time and energy spent planning the event and taking care of all of the details to ensure a successful event. Finally, we’d like to encourage everyone to attend our last general PTG meeting of the year next Thursday, May 12. This is a great opportunity to learn more about how PTG utilizes its resources and provide input on what our goals should be moving into next year.

Congratulations to all of the winners of the silent auction and live auction items. The following people also won the raffle prizes at Bowling Night…

Due to your purchases and donations at the book fair last fall, our school classrooms and libraries received over $1000 in books! We’d like to thank you by having a BOGO book fair. Buy one book and get the second (of equal or lesser value) free. This is a great opportunity to stock up on books for summer reading. The teachers will have a ‘Teacher’s Pick’ table with their summer reading recommendations. Come see what next year’s teachers are recommending for their students. We will be open during school hours and before and after the Variety Show/General PTG meeting on Thursday, May 12.

We would like to wish all of our mom’s at St. Pius X a Happy Mother’s Day this week. This sign is just a small reminder of the many virtues that all of you demonstrate on a regular basis. Thank you for all that you do.
