The Pedersen Praises Newsletter from Dave and Mari Pedersen “Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distant land.” Proverbs 25:25 October 2013 Looking forward to 2014! Thank you for your prayers for us and the TWR ministry on Bonaire. We are very pleased that the TWR Board approved the transmitter project to restore our power output to its former level from years past. This will improve the reception quality in all our broadcast areas and reach many new listeners that are currently out of range. We’ll have more information in early 2014 as fundraising begins in earnest. We are currently working on overall project planning for the equipment, modifying the building to house the new transmitter and all its attached systems, funding plans and also the workers needed to implement this huge task over the next 18-24 months. Please pray for they Lord’s wisdom as we plan the project in greater detail as well as for the funding needs. Pray also for the people to help; we expect to rely heavily on many short-term missions teams and visitors to come down to Bonaire for a week to several months at a time. They will be helping with building construc- tion, wiring, painting, equipment installation, and so on. We need lots of help, so please pray if the Lord would have you join our team for a short while here as an individual or maybe even organize a missions team from your church to come help. Plans are also underway for our 50th Anniversary of TWR Broadcast from Bonaire in August 2014. Much preparation is needed. We are praying for the Lord to send missions teams down to help with a lot of this work as well. The summer rains and thunderstorms have started. We have had sev- eral large deluges with a lot of rain in just a few hours. Heavy rainfall is a concern at the transmitter site which is in a low-lying area and prone to flooding. This last summer TWR constructed a dike to stem the flood- waters that flow onto the transmitter site and threaten the crucial trans- mitter building. The upcoming rainy season will be a good test of the dike’s integrity and strength. Some minor repairs will be necessary as the material settles. Please pray for the safety of the transmitter site. Rainy season has started and will test the new dike Special Interest Articles: Front Page Preparing for a very busy 2014 Back Page Family News Medical travel Prayer and Praise Support need Contact us at: Dave and Mari Pedersen Bonaire CARIBBEAN NETHERLANDS We may be contacted by selecting “Message this Staff Member” on our family web page listed to the left. “Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distant land.” Proverbs 25:25 October 2013 Looking forward to 2014!

Thank you for your prayers for us and the TWR ministry on Bonaire. We are very pleased that the TWR Board approved the transmitter project to restore our power output to its former level from years past. This will improve the reception quality in all our broadcast areas and reach many new listeners that are currently out of range. Family News

Joshua and Mari had a safe trip to North Caro-lina in late July for his biannual scoliosis and spina bifida checkup. His leg brace was re-paired, he had minor toe surgery, and other checkups. It turns out that his right leg that was broken a year still had a micro fracture, and he had to use a wheelchair for a month while it and his toe healed. The bad news is that is the scar tissue around his spina bifida and scoliosis surgeries continues to build and is inoperable. The doctors tell us to expect a gradual deterioration is his mobility as his spi-nal cord is squeezed. At some point he will become wheelchair bound. Thank you to all who helped earlier with his medical travel costs which were fully covered. His next trip will be in January.

My (Dave’s) car is dead again. It just got four new tires when the injectors went out, and now it also needs steering parts. Arghh. We’re look-ing for a source of parts for it in Europe as there are none available on Bonaire. Please pray with us for wisdom if we should continue to repair it or pray for another car entirely.

We were blessed to have Josh King join TWR staff on Bonaire as a summer intern. He is

studying Electrical Engineering at univer-sity. Josh was in-volved in planning some of the transmit-ter project, and was joined by his father for a week of planning meetings as well. The TWR Cary office re-ports they already

have many people applying for the internship positions around the world next summer. We hope some might be coming this way.

As the summer projects here wrapped up, the whole TWR team on Bonaire was able to come together for a time of fun and fellowship as we enjoyed Pizza together. Bonaire has a hot and humid climate that is tempered by steady east winds most of the year. We are able to enjoy outdoor activities as long as there is some shade and breeze and lots of mosquito re-pellant on hand.

Support Status

Thank you for partnering with us in ministry. Our financial support has dipped several hundred dollars per month below the TWR required minimum. Please prayerfully con-sider if the Lord would direct and provide for you to support us in min-istry.

Recurring and special one-time gifts can be given at our staff web page listed at our family web page on the previous page. You can also con-tact TWR Donor Services by mail or telephone number to set up regular or special giving.

Special Medical

Project

Joshua’s next medical trip to the US will be in January. Our medical in-surance covers the medical costs well but does not address the travel costs. We anticipate another $2,500 in expenses above what is still in the fund from this year.

If you would like to help with these expenses in additional to your regu-lar support, please send a tax-deductible gift to TWR marked “Pedersen Special Medical Project.
