Water in the World Just Add Water Ages 6+ Instructor: Liz Malanaphy Water connects us all. Explore how water moves through our world, traveling from place to place in different forms. Water that fell on our yard or in a river today could be in another country in a week or month. Connect your water to that of children all over the world as we look at maps and globes to trace the path of water. We will learn to play “stump the family” with tricky water questions, take part in a virtual tea gathering with anyone who wants to join us, near or far, and create teacup mini-birdbaths for our gardens. Class Includes:

● Pre-packed creativity kits, designed especially for the specific class to be picked up at The Phipps. If a student wants to join us from another city or state, creativity kits can be mailed. “Long-distanced” families can participate together this summer.

● Pre-recorded video instructions for different activities (so you can watch and participate when it works for YOU), and guided, fun activity ideas.

● Daily options during the week of your class for show and tell online sharing. ● Scheduled virtual visits, with flexibility to accommodate a family’s needs. Students can

also catch up with instructions and via emails if needed. ● Everything kids need to create their own part of a collaborative community art project.

These art installations will be temporary, so students can create, share, and then take it home to keep.

● In addition, students will have the option to send in photos and videos of their experiences, to be featured in Just Add Water weekly news recap videos.

Becoming Bugs Just Add Water Ages 6+ Instructor: Liz Malanaphy What would it be like if you were the size of a bug? Would you be afraid of getting stepped on or eaten? Let’s put ourselves in another creature’s place and see how we like it. We’ll explore insects living near us and create an original play about how they have to work together to solve a problem. We will take two days to create the play via email and Google meets, and then gather outdoors to rehearse for the other three days while staying six feet apart in our own bug “homes.” If possible, we will invite family and friends to come see the outdoor performance while sitting in their own distanced spaces. Class Includes:
