The Photo Gallery on www.GreatLoop.org is a great place to share your Loop photos, or check out the photos submitted by your fellow Loopers. There are photos of places along the Loop, member’s boats, Rendezvous, and much more. To access the Photo Gallery, go to www.GreatLoop.org and click on Photo Gallery in the left sidebar. Then, click on “Go to Photo Gallery”. This will take you to the main page where you can view albums, create an album, upload a photo, search for a photo, or set up your own Photo Gallery page.

Let’s begin by creating an album.

From the main page, click on “Create Album”. You will then see a form that looks like this.

Give your album a title, like “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Loop”. Select a field for your images to be sorted by from the drop down menu, or, just leave the default, which is “Date Uploaded”. Select the sort order, Ascending or Descending. The default is Ascending. Next, type in a description of the album. If you would like all members to be able to upload photos, select the “Yes” radio button where you are asked “Is this a community album where any site member can upload”. If you

only want your photos in the album, select “No”. Select “No” to the “Featured Album”. Now click on “Create Album” and you will see a screen like this.

Now, you are going to want to add some photos to your album.

Click on “Upload Image” and you will be taken to this screen where you can begin to add photos .

Now, select your album from the drop down menu.

Then browse to the photo you want to add from your computer.

And then, add a title for your photo.

If you want to add a caption, you may do so here, but it is not required.

Once you are done, click on the box to certify the file you are uploading is yours and you have the rights to use and distribute it. Then click on upload image, and you have your first entry in your new album!

Next, let’s try searching for images and albums. First go the main Photo Gallery page and click on “search”

If you want to search the images, type in a keyword, for example “boat”. Select an album. In this case we will use “All”, and, if you want, select how far back you want to search. In this case we will use older than 1 day.

Now click “Search” and you will see these results. Only photos with the word “boat” in the title or caption will be displayed.

If there is a specific album you are looking for, just type a keyword in the “Search for Albums” area. For example, type in “Rendezvous” and you will see all of the albums with the word Rendezvous in the title, like this.

The last thing we will look at is “My Gallery”. Go to the main Photo Gallery page and click on “my gallery”.

From this page, you can manage your subscriptions and view images. If there is an album you would like to subscribe to, just go back to the main Photo Gallery page and click on the album.

For example, “Gallery-Boats” .

Next, you will see this screen.

If you want to subscribe to the album, click on “Subscribe to this Album”. If you want to see all the images in the album as a slide show, click on “View Slideshow”.

When you click on “Subscribe to this Album”, you will be asked if you are sure you want to subscribe.

If you are sure, click on “Yes” and this album will be added to the list on “my gallery” page.

The “email notify” is checked by default. If you do not want to receive an email each time a photo is added, simply uncheck the box. If you change the notification setting, don’t forget to click on “Save Notification Changes” before leaving the page.

You can also subscribe to an individual user. To do this, go to the main Photo Gallery page and select an album. Look through the album for any photo you particularly like and click to open it.

When the photo opens, you have the option of subscribing to the user, adding just the individual photo to your favorites, downloading it, or giving it a rating. If you subscribe to the user, or, add it to your favorites, it will appear on “my gallery.”

If you want to rate it, click on the “rate it” button. You will then see a screen like this

Select a rating from 0-10 and click on “Rate it!” and your rating will be saved.

You can also post a comment about the photo on the photo page. If you scroll down, you will see the comment box below the photo.

Just type your comment in the box, and click “Post Comment”.

You can also download a copy of the photo to your computer. To do that, just click on “download full-size”. When the photo opens, right click on it, and you will see a box that gives you the option to “Save image as”.

Left click and browse to the location on your computer where you want the file saved. Give it a name, and then click “Save.
