Cake Boy at Battersea Reach has been profiled as one the best cafes in south London according to the Wandsworth Guardian. French celebrity chef and master patissier Eric Lanlard’s impressive ‘cake boutique’ opened by the Thames in 2005 and Cake Boy’s consistently great reviews have won it a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Why did you choose to open at Battersea Reach?Cake Boy has been based at Battersea Reach for 8 years so we were one of the first commercial occupiers here. We run a cookery school from Battersea Reach and wanted somewhere that was accessible but also looked fantastic, as we have people that come from across London to visit us. Our regular visitors know the chefs and they can just pop into the shop, order a cake and we make it for them straight away.
We discovered very quickly that there are a lot of offices nearby and what’s great is that many of these like to use Cake Boy to host their meetings. They are able to book our big table towards the back of the shop and we have PowerPoint facilities and WiFi for them to use. A lot of the local residents also work from home so they often use Cake Boy as their second office.
What new initiatives are you working on at the moment?We always have a lot of exciting things going on at Cake Boy. For example, last year we launched a YouTube channel, so every Monday there are new videos with recipes - we call it ‘Baking Mad Mondays’.
We have a great afternoon tea here and we very often get visitors on Red Letter Days enjoying packages such as Champagne & Macaroons, so Cake Boy at Battersea Reach really is becoming a destination.
Top Tips:As you’ll see down at Battersea Reach there is so much lavender at the moment so we also have a beautiful orange and fresh lavender cake which is gluten and lactose free - it tastes delicious even if you’re not on a specialist diet!

Whilst many will enjoy the new fleet of Riverbuses, others may prefer to take to the Cycle Superhighway, a 5.1 mile pathway designated to cyclists from Wandsworth to Westminster, crossing the River Thames at Chelsea Bridge.
In fact, recent research collated by multiple estate agents including Benham & Reeves and Marsh & Parsons confirms an increase in enquiries into the proximity of a new residence to a cycle hire scheme, adding to the investment potential of the Battersea Reach development.
Did you know?You can find bikes to hire all around London as well as many leisure cycle routes that Transport for London have developed. The River Thames is a ribbon of activity that runs the width of London, connecting St George developments from Kew Bridge in the west to London Dock in the east.
Up until now, this celebrated waterway has provided St George residents with picturesque views, activities such as kayaking and dragon boat racing and access to quintessentially British events such as the Oxbridge Boat Race.
Residents of Battersea Reach are soon to benefit from a further advantage of living on the edge of the River Thames. The Riverbus Service will call at the new Plantation Wharf pier, located between the Wandsworth and Battersea Bridges, providing an alternative transport method when moving around London.
This new service will allow residents to travel through London by boat, as easily as taking a train journey. Tickets can be bought on board or passengers can use their Oyster card. Commuting in London
becomes more than a simple journey, it becomes a real experience. This new opening will bring the Riverbus Service to four St George developments in total: Battersea Reach, Chelsea Creek, St George Wharf and One Blackfriars. With passenger numbers on the Riverbus Service expected to double to 12 million per year by 2020, this new wharf is part of a grand expansion plan which will see fuel-efficient catamarans sweeping up and down the River Thames.

Formula E at Battersea ParkIn keeping with these environmentally friendly methods of travel, the area surrounding Battersea Reach recently hosted the Formula E event.
The event was held in the summer at Battersea Park, a short distance from the development, the all-electric motorsport race included 15 turns around the 2.92km track.

Battersea Reach goes from strength to strength, as each new phase completes, offering a high specification at a competitive price. The development is increasing in popularity with buyers looking for apartments that feature sensational river views and exceptional living areas.
