As the Term draws to a close we have not slowed down at all, with lots of activities happening both at school and out in the wider community over the past few weeks as well as more to come in the last week of school. On Monday morning our Year 7s headed off to Halls Gap with Ms Hall for our first combined Mallee Education Cluster (MEC) camp for the year with Ouyen P-12 College and Murrayville Community College. These combined camps are something we have been working towards for the past few years to ensure that our students have the best educational and social opportunities possible. Make sure you have a look at the Werrimull P-12 School Facebook to see what activities our students have gotten up to so far on camp. Today we were lucky enough to have a visit from Paul Burton (Ecologist) on behalf of the National Malleefowl Recovery Team to share with us the Amazing Malleefowl Roadshow with staff, students and community members. We all learnt some interesting facts about this vulnerable species and a few people are keen to get out into Sunset country to see if they can find a mound, active or inactive, along with the more elusive bird itself. Last week our Grade 5/6 students headed into Mildura to take part in the Lightning Premierships with St Joseph’s Red Cliffs. This is an excellent opportunity for our students to take part in a variety of team sports as well as meet the students that they will be going on camp with next Term. These relationships with other schools, both within the MEC and our local community, give our students opportunities outside of what we can offer on our own and as such are essential to build and maintain. Last week was our testing and exam week here at school, the data gathered from this testing is used to pinpoint areas of need moving forwards by both staff and students.
From the Leading Teacher
This Friday our Year 9 students, who have almost completed their Term at the School for Student Leadership Gnurad Gundidj, will be presenting their Community Learning Project. We look forward to finding out the details of their project and will share them with the community once they return in Term Three. Next week is a busy one to finish the Term so please make sure you’re keeping an eye on the calendar in both the Pipeline and on Facebook. Our senior students are completing Work Experience next week at various workplaces throughout the community and we wish them luck as they try new things and either rule in or out different careers as a result. Next Wednesday, June 26, is a Pupil Free day as staff will be going over information gained from our first Review day as well as completing forward planning for the remainder of the year. On Friday, the last day of Term Two, our Primary Leaders have organised a Onesie Day in support of Cerebral Palsy. For a gold coin donation students can wear either a onesie or full length pyjamas and bring a change of casual dress for the games that are organised for later in the day. Friday is an early lunch from 12:30pm for Red Food Friday and Onesie Day activities, we invite families to join us for this part of the day. As it is the last day of Term it will be an early finish at 1:30pm. Make sure that you take the time to recharge over the break and we look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday the 15th of July.
Primary Learning
Our students have been working hard to improve
their personal learning. Our maths topic is currently
statistics and understanding data. Miss Smith’s
students created a poll to collect data about people’s
favourite ice cream flavour. Yum!
In Literacy we are focusing on the visualising reading
strategy to try to create a mental image in your mind
about what you are reading. Our writing focus is
procedures. Students have been doing lots of
practical tasks such as growing cress sheep and
making delicious honey joys and using these to write
a procedure (how to) text.
5/6 Lightning Premierships
Gus, Abby and Ebony competed in Soccer and
Hockey at the Lightning Premierships at Red Cliffs last
week. We had an excellent time playing sport with
Nangiloc, St Josephs Red Cliffs, Koorlong, Cardross
and Robinvale.

Last Day of School: Term Two
“On the 28th of June, Term Two, Ebony & Gus
are organising a special day for Primary
students to wear their favourite onesie or
pyjamas to school. There will be games and
awesome prizes for students to win. Each
game will cost 5-10 Millewa dollars, but some
will be 20. Games include musical chairs, bobs
and statues, 3-legged race, limbo and a disco.
We are asking for students to also bring a gold
coin donation to raise money for the Cerebral
Palsy Foundation. Thank you! -Gus and Ebony,
Primary Leaders.

Millewa Pre-School
What’s Happening
This Term at the Millewa Pre-School we are exploring science, natural history and dinosaurs through our dramatic play area and a range of experience and experiments. It’s always interesting to see them engage with challenging materials outside of what they know so we look forward to in depth conversations around a variety of topics.
Last week we had our second community playgroup session with our small people under kindergarten age. It’s a great opportunity for them to test the waters of kindergarten and engage in a range of activities from building with blocks to painting, crafting and story time.
Next week is our final kindergarten sessions for the Term and on Tuesday we will be holding our annual Special People’s Day from 11am. We’ll be cooking pizza scrolls for lunch and all special people are welcome from parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and family friends.
We have scheduled kindergarten photos for early next Term, a letter with more details will go home next week.
If you have any questions regarding any kindergarten matters please don’t hesitate to contact me on either [email protected], 5028 1251 (M, W, Th or F) or 5028 1293.
