Story

Firstly, the reason why we chose to do Hansel & Gretel is because we discussed that this would be one of the few stories that no one would use. Another point is that, there hasn’t yet been made an modern interpretation to Hansel & Gretel.

As a group we decided to keep loyal to the original fairy tale as much as possible.

CharactersFor characters we chose to talk to people from Maheni’s drama class. Simple because they’ll know what they’re doing due to experience etc, also because they’ll be good at what they’re doing.

Overall, we only need 3 characters…HanselGretelWitch

The reason why we don’t need a father figure yet he’s going to play a part in the story is because we’ll have a shot where the audience will witness the father talking to the kids (voiceover) so instead we just need a manly voice to do this, which is easier than having more characters and getting everyone together for filming etc will be hard.So less people the best!

Props & Costumes• To show our creativity as a group, we intend to emphasize on the witches props &

costume.We decided that she’ll have a black hood and dramatic mysterious make up (i.e: Smoky eyes)

Whereas for Hansel & Gretel we decided to keep them as simple as possible to highlight the idea that they’re simply kids and emphasize the innocence.
