For over 400 years the lustre of Skultuna brass has illuminated the world. With classic designs from the time of our founder King Karl IX of Sweden, as well as with ground breaking antiquities of tomorrow by leading international designers like GamFratesi, Lara Bohinc, Luca Nichetto, Monica Förster, Richard Hutten and Claesson Koivisto Rune to name a few.And herein lies the formula to why today Skultuna can be found at leading department stores all around the world, has won a number of international design awards and regularly exhibits at the leading international design fairs - we have always been, and will always be, one part traditional craftsmanship and one part mo-dernity. The result can be seen in the following pages and at skultuna.com

  • This spring Skultuna welcomes Ilse Crawfordto our family of designers. In one of the mostexciting collaborations in four centuries, Ilse brings her humanistic philosophy to the worldof Skultuna with the Nurture Collection. Enjoy!

  • NEWS – NURTURE WATERING CANDESIGN ILSE CRAWFORD

  • The Nurture collection, by Ilse Crawford for Skultuna

A brass watering can and brass and ceramic plant pots that respond to the growing desire to bring plants, greenery and life into our homes or workspaces with beautiful objects that encourage us to take care of them. They are a daily reminder to give attention to our plants. In particular the watering can celebrates and elevates what can be a tedious task, bringing happiness through repeated use. Brass has been chosen to reflect light and its surroundings. Ceramics in black, green and chocolate create a earthy foil for your pet plants. These materials will age beautifully and witness ‘time’ in their appearance.

The vase series Via Fondazza is a project by the Italian designer Paolo

Dell’Elce. The work is inspired by the archetypal subjects represented in the

still life paintings by the artist Giorgio Morandi whose work was based on a

thorough research in the balance between shapes and proportions. Via Fon-

dazza is the name of the street in Bologna where the artist’s house and studio

    was based. Designed 2014.

Pomme is a spherical vase & candle holder made of glass and polished brass.

The shape of Pomme is inspired by the natures round shapes. The name Pom-

me comes from the French word for apple, from which the product borrowed

its shape. Pomme can be used as a vase for cut flowers and the base as a

candle holder for tealights. Polished brass meets glass, shiny materials yet

    fragile.

bust portraits. His public ornaments can be seen in many Swedish towns. He

also designed a series of brass candlesticks for a Swedish manufacturer called

Ystad-Metall that closed down in 1969. The Lily candlestick was one of these

products and it has become a modern design classic that has featured in many

international design magazines to this day. In agreement with the relatives

From studies on how things join together, Studio Ström created Brick, a modular

candle holder with a simple repeating geometric shape. Stacked together, Brick

can be made into both small and large arrangements. Cast from brass, each mod-

ule slots into the next to become not only a larger installation of candles, but also

a piece of sculptural decor in and of itself. Drawing on the past, Brick follows

in the tradition of modular candle holders. Its generous design gives the gift of

form-giving to people from Studio Ström. Studio Ström was founded in 2016 by

the Swedish industrial designer Christian Sjöström and the interior architect Elina

Bergström. With a holistic approach they develop spatial solutions, furniture and

objects meant to be used and experienced over time. Their process of experimen-

tation with form and material combined with function-driven prototypes leads

the duo to create unique designs in which aesthetics and rationality interplay.
