A Message From Mrs McKenzie
Athletics Carnival Thank You’s!
A big thank you to everyone who came out to support the children last Friday for
our Athletics Carnival! What a day!! A big thank you to Royce Nieuwerth for
bringing down the Marquees for us to use and for all the many people who
pitched in to put them up and then down again and to load them into the trailer.
I am always in awe on these days of how much everyone just pitches in and it all
just comes together. Friday marked the final Athletics Carnival that Mr Leicester
will help run (unless we get him back for a CRT day next year! Watch out Mr
Leicester!!). I would like to thank Jim and also Clint Newcombe who put the lane
markings down for our races and marked out the team events. I can’t wait until
next Wednesday morning for our Field Events (Grade 3-6 only). We would love
for you to come along and help out or come and support the kids on this day.
Fundraising Committee Meeting
A big thank you to everyone who came along to our first Fundraising Committee
Meeting of the year and supported Caroline Wilson in running this as our
Sub-Committee leader from School Council. We will be listing all the future
meetings on our calendar and welcome anyone to come along and join in the
fun. Our next fundraisers will be the Mother’s Day Stall and the Ladies Market
Night (which will be held in our Shed this year). Caro would love your help.
Staff Leaving at the End of Term and Staffing Changes
We will sadly say some goodbyes at the end of this term to both Jim Leicester as
he is retiring and to Georgia Milburn who has accepted an administrative
position out of the area. As Mrs Anthony will also be leaving very early next term,
Miss Enbom will be going into the Grade 5 classroom for the remainder of the
year. Geoff Birnie will be filling PE and Music for next term and will continue on
for the remainder of the year doing Music for our school. We are currently
shortlisting for the Grade 3 position and will announce the new classroom
teacher as soon as this decision has been made. We will be interviewing next
Tuesday for this. Jim’s retirement is on 20/4/2018 at 3.45pm in the Senior
Building and we welcome everyone to attend. Simply RSVP at the office so that
we can ensure there is enough catering.
End of Term on Thursday
A reminder that next Thursday is the end of Term 1 (already!!). We will be
starting our assembly at 1.45pm due to our Easter Raffle and goodbyes. The
school day will finish at 2.30pm. Buses will run at 2.30pm so children will need to
be picked up from bus stops an hour earlier.
First Day of next term is a Curriculum Day
Monday 16th
April, the first official day of next term, is a Curriculum Day. No
students come to school on this day. Please pop this date in your calendars as a
reminder.
Have a great weekend
