Why??????????• Change should not done for the sake of
change.• But, It is a strategy to accomplish some
overall goal.
• Change either due to:
1. Opportunity.2. Problem.
Barriers of Change:1. Perception Barriers:• Stereotypes in analysis: We see what
we expect to see.
• Difficulties to identify the real cause of the problem.
• Too narrow scope of the problem and focus on particular aspects only. (incomplete information).
Barriers of Change:
2. Emotional Barriers:• Risk-aversion:
fear to fail or to make mistake. People are afraid of the unknown.
• Normally people find it much easier to come up with reasons for rejecting an idea than with reasons than supporting new idea.
• Not taking time for thinking: people feel under pressure to deliver results quickly.

3. Cultural Barriers:• Tradition and Change.

4. Environmental Barriers:• Change move out of the comfort
zone.
• Lack of ability to accept criticism.
• Lack of ability to listen to suggestion and appreciate good ideas

• Know why do you make the change?
• What goal(s) do you hope to accomplish?
• Ask-Listen-Understand-Consult…………
• Review past change efforts (Success & Failure)
• Remove the barriers.

• How do you plan to reach the goals?
• What will you need to reach the goals?
• How long might it take?
• How will you know when you’ve reached your goals or not?
