    Hippocrates Seven Levels of

    Intervention Hippocrates, considered the father

of medicine, admonished hisstudents to do no harm. Heestablished seven distinct levels of

intervention, and taught hisstudents to utilize the Leastinvasive effective approach.Practitioners of complimentaryhealth care still take this

admonition seriously. His levels ofintervention are listed from theleast to the most invasive. Themore invasive approaches arepotentially more hazardous.

    Level 1- Prayer and Fasting

    Prayer and fasting enable us

to communicate with theFather, and in so doing weare profoundly changed. This is spiritual healing.

    How does it works?

  • 8/13/2019 The Power of Healing

    7/25

Spiritual healing is the healing of the unseen energy in our energy field. It is notmagic! Spiritual healing recognizes that our thoughts, feelings, actions, memories, experiences and bodies are all one interrelated flow of energy impacting each other inthousands of ways every day. This is the mind, body, spirit connection. Every thought andfeeling we have resonates throughout our bodies. If we experience trauma, sadness, abuse, fear, abandonment, our body registers this emotional content in the body. When we arestressed, out of balance, we are more vulnerable to contract infection, virus, parasites,

etc. When we are out of balance emotionally or mentally, this ALWAYSshows up in our bodies, sometimes immediately and sometimes years later but it ALWAYSshows up.

The way to stay healthy and in balance is to do our inner work. This work most powerfullyconsists of identifying and releaseing blocked emotional, mental and spiritual energy which ismanifesting as pain, hurt, anger, broken relationships, poor communications, repeatingconfrontations, back pain, cancer, ADHD, depression, infections, irritable bowel syndrome, etc.and all other types of imbalances in our physical bodies.

Each and every one of us is here to learn to be in greater states of Peace and Joy.Some of usrecognize this and others among us do not. We can choose to ignore our inner work buteventually we have to do the work to find Peace and Contentment in our daily lives. We canspend lifetimes on the externals of what others think of us, on material possessions and onpublic attributes of prestige and success. The externals however have next to nothing to do withfeeling successful, peaceful and balanced inside. The goal of spiritual healing is Peace andWholeness inside. Thenour lives, our relationships, our jobs and our bodies come intogreater and greater balance.

Level 2-NutritionProper nutrition is more than taking the

appropriate micronutrients. It means learningto balance our diets in harmony with our levelof activity, season of the year, andphysiological needs.

You could say that nutrients are the buildingblocks that help build you into what you are.The nutrients that you are made out of areproteins, carbohydrates, fats and oils, minerals and vitamins, and water.

You get your nutrients and energy from thefood that you eat. And to start off the daywith enough energy to be active, you need tomake sure that you eat your breakfast insteadof sleeping in and skipping it. You also need tomake sure that the food youre eating ishealthy and will provide you with plenty ofnutrients rather than empty calories (foodwith lots of energy but no nutrients).

Start your day off byeating breakfast to avoidbeing tired the rest of theday.

ProteinsProteins help you to grow. You are made out

a lot of protein. If you werent, youd look likeskin and bones. Actually, your skin is alsomade out of protein so youd look like askeleton. Also, proteins help you to repairyourself when you get cuts. Proteins comefrom foods like fish, meat, chicken, eggs, soybeans, and many others.

CarbohydratesCarbohydrates are a big source of energy foryou. What is a carbohydrate? Its starch and

sugar. Watch out though, because sugar by itselfor in junk food like candy provides energy butisnt nutritious. This kind of sugar is calledan empty calorie because it has energy butdoesnt provide you with anything else. Havingtoo much can even harm you like with cavities inyour teeth. Some forms of good carbohydratesare whole wheat bread, brown rice, pasta a lotof foods that have grains.

Fats and OilsFats and oils make up the cells thatbring other nutrients and the air thatyou breathe all around your body. They

also control your body temperatureand cushion body organs so that theyare protected from things that couldpoke into it. Your body only needs acertain amount of fat, though. Having

too much can clog the veins andarteries that carry blood around yourbody and overwork your heart to pumpblood.

Junk food has more fats and

oils than you need. But, you

    can get the right amounts

    you need from other foods.

water. Having all that water helps you to carryother nutrients around your body, controls thetemperature of your body, and moves fooddown along your system and eventually come

out of your body. You can get a lot of water bydrinking it by itself, in drinks, or from food. Manyfruits are more than 90 percent water.

Benefits of Massage Relieves StressStress relief is key to achieving a healthier lifestyle. Even a single massage session can significantly lower heart rate, cortisol and insulin levels all of which

help reduce daily stress. Encourages RelaxationRelax. Reset. Repeat. Massage has been shown to help the body enter a relaxing rest-and-recovery mode: an effect that lingers long after the massage is

over. Improves PostureUnlike other bad habits, poor posture can be relaxing to correct. Massage helps reinforce healthy and natural movements, which can get your posture back

on track. Improves CirculationThe pressure created by massage therapy moves blood through congested areas. This causes new blood to flow in, resulting improved body function. Lower Blood PressureHigh blood pressure has more misconceptions than nearly any other medical condition. But one effective way to stave off high blood pressure naturally is

massage therapy. Relaxes MusclesGot neck, back or muscle pain? Odds are, sittingall day at the office is the culprit. Massage gets to the root of persistent pain by relaxing tense muscles. Improves Flexibility and Range of MotionAs we age, joints tend to tighten, making range of motion more restricted. Massage helps keep joints more fluid, making you more flexible and less prone to

injury. Promotes Deeper and Easier BreathingOne of the telltale signs of anxiety and stress is constricted breathing. Massage can play an important role in reliving respiratory issues and training the body

how to relax. Relieves Headaches45 million Americans suffer from chronic headaches and migraines. Massage helps ease the pressure and pain, which can also reduce the chance and

frequency of headaches. Strengthens the Immune SystemStudies indicate that regular massage can naturally increase the immune systems cytotoxic capacitythe activity level of the bodys natural "killer cells Enhances Post-Operative RehabilitationMassage helps the body pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs. This makes massage therapy a great supplement to post-operative

rehabilitation. Improves Rehabilitation After InjuryRehabilitation can be frustrating. A continual massage program can accelerate the recovery process, as well as help you relax and stay motivated.

Naturopathy can be practiced alone or in conjunction with the Holistic Health

Practitioner license or other therapeutic practices. Those in the fields of

medicine, nursing, chiropractic, physical therapy, dentistry, massage,

acupuncture, counseling and other healing arts use clinical Naturopathy in

their existing practices.Naturopaths use natural therapies (naturo) to treat pathology or diseases and

dysfunctions (pathy= pathology abreviated). Naturopathy helps the body,

emotions and spirit to heal itself by re-establishing balance where there is

    imbalance.

Naturopathic origins are usually attributed to Hippocrates who, 2000 yearsago, taught that the key to good health was to live as naturally and as

moderately as possible. He approached healing with let-the-body-heal-

    itself principles.
