• Texting while driving is the act of composing, sending, reading text message, mails, or making other similar use of the web on a mobile phone while operating a motor vehicles.

• Some people still don't know how dangerous it is. Others know about the risks of texting and talking while driving, but still choose to do so anyway

• Texting While Driving Causes: 34% of teens who drive while distracted simply say
they're used to multi-tasking. (2010, AAA and Seventeen Magazine)
77% of young adult drivers are very/somewhat confident that they can safely text while driving. (Ad Council, 2011)
55% of young adult drivers agree that it's easy to text and pay attention to driving at the same time. (Ad Council, 2011)
• As Americans, we have this so called “Multi Task Addiction”, and it isn’t really an addiction. It’s a habit so at many times, throughout the day ,to make things easier on ourselves, we have this urge to do more than one thing at once.

• A device that could be installed in a car to block cell phone signals while the engine is running.
Solution

• Parents: set the rules, exemplify the rules, enforce the rules and find every opportunity to express the value in abiding by the rules.
• Police officers can do their part by writing as many tickets as possible in order to discourage people from texting while driving.

• State governments should give grants to police agencies for them to hire extra officers for the sole purpose of writing tickets for texting while driving.
