PRESIDENT’S REPORT Well we have had a productive and pleasing few weeks or months in the Historic and Classic Vehicle Movement of late folks.
Shannons Sydney Classic went very well. Record numbers all round it seems. Great weather and wonderful vehicles to drool over. I have had nothing but accolades for the event, so the team who get it all done can take a few bows. Please thank them when you meet. A little glitch with the layout of area A as the plans did not include the latest café mods. We will sort that next year, so maybe expect less spaces there. Area E out on the Amaroo section now has permanent food facilities as well.
Our guest, Minister for Regional Roads and Transport, Paul Toole MP had a great time he told me. He really enjoyed his laps of the track with Reg Singh in his Leo Geoghe-gan tribute E49 Charger. The presentation of awards and trophies kept the Minister and ACMC Patron Alan Hay very busy. There were a lot of vehicles in the Concours event this year. More than we have had for a long time. Outright winner of the George Roberts OAM shield was David Berthon with his lovingly restored 1913 Rolls Royce. Wonderful to see a Veteran car in the event and winning such a prestigious award against such extensive and beautifully restored opposition.
ARDC are very happy with the joint venture arrangements and we have the dates for 2020 locked in as 15 & 16 August.
Negotiations with RMS have resolved the logbook issue and we now have commit-ment via RMS and Ministerial press releases. The 60-day logbook is now a permanent feature of NSW HVS and CVS registrations so that is now secure. The four-year trial period is now over. A bit too long we think but it is over finally. We await the details of how it will function from here on out. ACMC have supplied RMS with the details of how the other States handle them, so we should see an acceptable proposal soon. Hopefully no longer a piece of A4 paper which looks suspect to some in our Constabulary I am told.
Also resolved is the question of Gross Vehicle Mass or GVM on the CVS application / renewal form #1835. There is a limit of 3,500 kg laden weight on CVS and the form says you must fill it in if you read the RMS instructions. However, passenger vehicles such as cars do not have such a rating available. Not on their details under the bonnet or in paperwork anywhere. So after representations from ACMC, RMS have made it an optional field on the form which now states “if known”. Therefore, from now on you are not breaking the rules if you leave that blank because the figure is not available. If it is on details you can find, then you must fill it in AND it must still be less than 3.5 tonnes fully loaded.
And so we head into the summer months with our heads held high and a great future for the movement. Sharon and I have booked in to the AHMF 2020 Festival of Motor-ing in Albury next March/April. It is looking like a great event, so I urge you all to con-sider being a part of it. In particular, you may wish to consider Lynelle’s fabulous CMC tour to get down south for that event. Take a look at the features included for CMC members. Great way to see our state with fellow enthusiasts!
And to that end we must thank Ian Andersen for his tireless efforts in upgrading our CMC website. Take a look if you have not done so recently. one of the best set ups I have ever seen for a Motoring Enthusiast group.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
At registration renewal time you must follow the process of filling in the left
side of an RMS #1835 Classic Vehicle Declaration form, have your Club Regis-
trar apply the Primary Club stamp to the lower right hand box then post to the
address below, with a copy of the Pink Slip and the $25 administration fee.
The form must be an original as per instructions from RMS. See dot point 1 at
the top of the form. The fee is $30 if you are using post as we are insisting on
Express Post return at $5 extra which is less than the cost of such envelopes,
but we are subsidizing it trying to overcome a rash of lost mail. It gives us a
trace on the mail and gets swift delivery. Multiple CVS in the one envelope will
be just one $5 fee, not $5 each one.
You can: Pay by cheque or Money Order made out to ACMC and post the lot to PO Box 419 Bexley, NSW 2207.
OR
EFT funds to: Bendigo Bank, Bexley Branch A/C Name: ACMC NSW Ltd BSB: 633-108 Acct Number: 157374299
Please ensure your EFT payment is adequately identified by using your Surname.

FOR CLUB REGISTRARS
HOW TO HANDLE CLASSIC VEHICLE SCHEME (CVS) APPLICATIONS
The Applicant should fill in sections 1 and 2 of the Classic Vehicle Declaration (RMS #1835).
Please do not fill in or sign Section 3 of that form. This is for the ACMC to fill in and sign as we are the
Approved Organization and the Authorized Person.
The Primary club (i.e. your club) should simply stamp the lower right-hand box to signify that the
applicant is a bona fide member of your Club and his or her vehicle is acceptable to your Club.
Without that stamp we will not process the application. The stamp should be legible for all to read as
RMS are very strict on such things.
RMS insist that to start off CVS an AUVIS or Blue Slip must be obtained for the vehicle no matter what
rego it is currently on. Not our rule, it comes from RMS. Not all AIS can do these.
If any of your fellow Club Members wish to register their vehicles on the CVS would you please ask them
NOT to send us the original Blue Slip. A photocopy is sufficient. If they go astray in the mail they would
need to go through the whole process and cost of obtaining one again. Note also that they only last for
42 days so it requires prompt use of them.
All we need is the Classic Vehicle Declaration, a copy of the Blue Slip and a cheque, money order, or EFT
receipt when they send these documents by post to ACMC PO Box 419 Bexley 2207.
The fee is $25 for the processing and we now ask for an extra $5 to cover Express Post return as there
has been a spate of lost mail and the Express system gives us a number to trace the item plus a guaran-
tee of next day delivery in most cases. So the total payable is $30. Multiple CVS in the one
envelope will only incur a $5 fee for the post so $25 a car plus $5.
Please then follow the payment details on the previous page for either cheque/money order or EFT.

CMC : Traffic Management Course 2019
Earlier this year, the CMC decided to run a Traffic Management Course. Originally conceived for our
Shannons Sydney Classic volunteers, it was also open to any of our affiliated club members who
would like to participate and improve their traffic control skills.
Saturday, 29th of June, began as a lovely sunny morning,
although a little brisk at SMP that early in the day. We had
8 members attend, representing 6 clubs.
Adrian King - Lions Pride, Trenton Crump & Rick Costa –
Classic Car Club Illawarra, Bevan Joseph – Chevrolet Car
Club, Richard Dalziel & Robert Walker – Rover Owners
Club, Greg Fereday – MGCC & John Gale – Willys
Whippet Overlander.
All of our attendees learnt valuable skills on the day,
which they were then able to use as volunteers at
SSC in August, parking up the cars, and helping
throughout the day as cars moved out for track runs
and returned to their display areas.
We are looking to run the course again in 2020, and
designing it around car show needs specifically. If
you or someone in your club would be interested in
joining the course for 2020, please contact the CMC
Secretary – Karen Symington, and we can add you
to next year’s list.
