We know that the speech is a necessary medium for dailylife interactions or for the exchange of knowledge. Speech has the energy to harm or helpother living beings and it also has the energy to liberate human beings.

The matchless Gnanvani—speech laden with liberating knowledge, which has arisenas the ultimate instrument for the salvation of the world through the medium of AkramVignani Pujya Dadashri is considered a wonder of this current time cycle. Wonderfuldescription about the speech of a Gnani Purush or Tirthankara Lords are there, but howsuch speech should be in worldly interactions is difficult to state, except for the Gnani Purushhimself. The speechof a saint has the marma internal meaning of a religion and when one attains hundredpercent marma then he attains gnanark essence of knowledge. ‘We’ are imparting thisgnanark to you, and that is the reason you experience the Self. This is a direct speech whichexpresses after having ‘touched’ the fully enlightened Lord within, this speech is pratyakshdirect Saraswati (Goddess of Speech). Your mind rests the moment you listen to this speech,the kashayas: anger, pride, deceit, greed become lifeless the moment you listen to thisspeech and you experience the bliss of the Self.

Except a Gnani, who can give a detail understanding and experience of the speech ofa Gnani Purush? Information about extraordinary forms of his speech is evident from hissatsang. And our hearts become full with love when we find out about this astonishing speech.

The speech of a Gnani Purush is living; it is direct Saraswati, without attachment orabhorrence, egoless, beneficial to self and others, syadvaad (never hurts the other), anekant(accepting of different viewpoints), sweet, melodious, impartial, and matchless. This speechhas the energy to annihilate the ego and all sexuality. It does not hurt anyone, it may be sternbut it is loving and compassionate, it is devoid of mistake, it stems from perfect experience,it is applicable to the past, the present and the future, it is original and pure. Dadashri’sspeech has come forth only for the salvation of many and was dependent on the unfoldinginteraction of the person in front of him. How can you evaluate such unprecedented pricelessspeech?

His speech has four qualities: it would be beneficial to others (hiit), it would be briefand to the point (miit), it would be pleasant to the listener (prit) and it would be the truth(satya).

Dadashri says, ‘I say what I see in my kevalgnan absolute knowledge. That is thereason I give solutions all the way to kevalgnan.’ Every word of the Gnani encompassesinfinite scriptures and there is a potential of publishing thousands of books through thatspeech. This speech, which has no owner, is the speech, which will liberate millions.

This original speech of a Gnani Purush awakens one to the eternal Self within, and thisawakening shatters all wrong beliefs.

The nature of the speech of the Gnani

Questioner: We feel so surprised bylistening to your speech. How wonderful thisspeech is! Dada, what are the unique qualitiesof your speech?

Dadashri: ‘Our—the Gnani Purush’s’speech is vitaragi—free of any attachments,nirmamatva without my-ness, nirahamkariegoless, beneficial to the self and others swa-par heetkari, sweet to listen, touches the heart,devoid of attachment and abhorrence andsyadvaad accepted by all viewpoints. That iswhy people experience anand bliss the momentthey listen to it.

Questioner: What does syadvaadequanimity mean?

Dadashri: It is a speech that will nothurt the foundation of any religion. It is a speechthat is acceptable to Vaishnavs, Jains, Parsis,Muslims, everybody. It is not ekantik myopicview-point, it is anekantik pluralistic.

Questioner: Is it considered insistence-free?

Dadashri: Yes, you can say that. Thereis no insistence of any kind in it.

Questioner: In having niragrahi non-insistence speech, do you have to think beforespeaking or not?

Dadashri: No. If a person were to thinkbefore he says anything, then his speech wouldnever be without insistence or obstinacy. TheGnani’s speech is with jagruti awareness. It isonly for the benefit of others. He remains inthe awareness that does not harm anyone’swelfare.

The one who listens repeatedly andenthusiastically to speech of the Gnani Purush,will find his own speech becoming like that ofthe Gnani. Nothing comes out of merely copyingand reciting it.

Questioner: When does syadvaadspeech come out?

Dadashri: When all the karma aredestroyed; anger, pride, illusion and greed aredestroyed then syadvaad speech will come out.The complete science of the Vitarag Lordsmust come forth. It only comes out if there isa direct experience of the Soul. Until then alltalk is intellectual; it is worldly talk. Until thespeech becomes syadvaad (such that it doesnot hurt anyone listening to the slightest extent)there is a grave liability in preaching about thepath of moksha.

When does syadvaad speech arise?When the basis and foundation of the ego comesto an end. When the whole world is seen asflawless; when no one is seen at fault at all.

To not hurt the foundation of any religionis considered syadvaad speech. Syadvaadspeech is absolute. Everyone’s prakruti non-Self complex is different, and yet syadvaadspeech does not hinder anyone’s prakruti.

All these words are being said, yet in itall, ‘I—the enlightened One’ am not the speakerof anything. ‘I’ am not the speaker of even asingle word. Really, it is your punya meritkarma, that causes these words to come forth.‘We’ are able to assess your punya based onthe speech that comes out. This speech is ataped record; ‘We’ have nothing to do with it.What is this speech like? It is completely

syadvaad; it is a speech that does not hurtanyone, not in the least, and it accepts everyviewpoint. Such is this speech, absolutelysyadvaad.

When I say anything, the soul of the otherperson will definitely accept it. If he does notaccept, it is due to his obstinacy. Mistakescannot occur because it is not my speech.Where ‘my speech’ exists, mistakes will occur.

Nischay Gnan the knowledge of the Selfdoes not exist in books. It is hidden in the heartof the Gnanis. And when we listen to it, throughthe form of vani speech, then our solution-salvation happens.

One will not have any indigestion—negative reaction from listening to ‘our’ speech.It is the absolute essence of liberating knowledgegnanark. It is completely digestible and willnot give anyone indigestion. You should notdisturb a single word of the Gnani Purush; thereis great danger in doing so. Even if only oneword of the Gnani is absorbed within, it willliberate one, take him to moksha.

No solution without Vitarag speech

When someone asked the Lord, ‘What isthe solution-instrument-method for moksha?’The Lord replied, ‘Except for the speech thatis vitarag, there is no other solution.’ Such aspeech is siddha has attained the ultimate andit grows and flourishes and comes forth fromthe listener.

Questioner: What is the foundation-levelof vitarag speech?

Dadashri: Vitarag speech means that itis acceptable to every soul and every religion.Only an obstinate person will not accept it.Vitarag speech is pleasant to the soul whereasthe other speeches are pleasant to the mind.The moment you hear the vitarag speech, itwill appear as new; a speech that has never

been heard or read of before. Vitarag speechis that which is acceptable to the followers aswell as the opponents-the non-believers. Eventhe non-believers will say, ‘It is true but it doesnot suite us.’

The easiest way to recognize a Vitaragis through his speech. You will come tounderstand its value depending upon how astuteyou are at estimating its value.

This vitarag speech liberates

Only the speech that is free of anyattachment, can lead you to liberation. Ourspeech is direct whereas the speech found inthe scriptures is indirect. If you were to heardirect speech for just one hour, you will becomeenlightened. Our speech accepts all doctrines.It is one that accepts all viewpoints. This isbecause I am sitting in the center. My speechis impartial. People of all religious sects, Hindus,Muslims, Parsis and Khojas, listen to my speechand they all accept me as an Aptapurush(absolutely trustworthy person). I do not have anyintellect that discriminates and divides. I reside ineveryone: I am the speaker and the listener too.

Vitarag speech is the only speech that isfilled with the intent of total spiritual salvationof others. That speech itself will take one allthe way to liberation.

This speech is such that can remove therust—the stale rusty state of the entire world.That is the reason they record the speech evenat the time when I am brushing my teeth. Thesepeople do not leave even a word what I speakand then the books will be printed. People willattain salvation when they will read these books.The moment one reads this speech, his mindand heart rests knowing he has come home.This is the greatest wonder of this era of currenttime cycle. People in America were ecstaticafter reading this Aptavani. This speech is verybeneficial for the world. It is helpful for the world.

Speech filled with the energy of thatwhich gives and sustains life

The speech that this Dada speaks isheart-touching-Saraswati (Goddess of speech)and it touches the hearts of people. This is avery rare phenomenon.

Heart touching speech, does not mean itcomes out after touching my heart but it touchesthe heart of the other. It comes forth after‘touching’ my Atma—Soul. The speech, whichtouches the heart, will have an effect oneverybody. Such a speech is withvachansiddhi accomplished spiritual energy.

Therefore this speech will give the energyof chaitanya the eternal life sustaining element.This speech will give the energy as much aschetan that in whose presence life is—does. Itis because this is chitanyamaya filled with theeternal element—speech. Now chitanyamayaspeech does not exist anywhere at all. But thisspeech comes out after touching chetan theSelf that is why everything about it is felt aschitanyamaya.

That speech which does not hurt, doesnot give pain to anybody is called samyakvani.And the speech which hurts others iskathorvani harsh speech.

It is very important to admire and bedevoted to attaining samyakvani, speech thatdoes not hurt anyone and that is verily thegreatest bhakti devotion of the God.

Darshan of direct Saraswati

The speech of a Gnani Purush ispratyaksh direct Saraswati and you can learnby listening to this speech. If you want to dodarshan of the real presence of Saraswati,you can do so by listening to this speech.

When speech becomes ‘Saraswati’ thenit will touch people’s hearts and that is whenpeople are blessed. It is difficult to find a speech

that will touch your heart. My speech will touchyour heart and if only just one word of it isabsorbed completely, it will take you all theway to moksha.

The energy of conduct can be predictedthrough speech

Gnani Purush’s speech is sweet andpleasant; it does not cause a negative reactionin anyone, it does not create any negativereactionary reaction in anyone who listens to it.Charitra—the conduct as the Self—is whenthe words that come forth do not hurt anyoneto the slightest extent. One’s energy of charitrais recognized from his speech. There is no otherway of recognizing charitrabud the energy ofone’s conduct in the realm of the Self. If theintellect is syadvaad that which does not createa reaction in the other through hurting the egoof the other, it may appear to be syadvaad, butthat is not sampoorna the ultimate and absolute.Whereas where there is a Gnan-syadvaadspeech that flows in the State of Gnan then thecharitra conduct of such a one is vitarag—without attachment or abhorrence. People ofevery religion accept Gnan-syadvaad as astandard. There is no insistence in such a speech.

Questioner: What should one do toattain such a speech?

Dadashri: Everyday you have to ask withbhaav hearty and prayerful intent that, ‘Let noone be hurt through my speech, and let it besuch that it helps and pleases the other person.’One attains it if one nurtures the causes ofsuch speech.

Speech, conduct and humility that winseveryone

“Jena vani, vartan ne vinaya chhe manoharprem-atma.”

“The One whose speech, conduct andhumility wins everyone is the Soul of pure love.”

‘Our’ (referring to the Gnani Purush andthe fully enlightened Lord within) speech isimpartial, ‘our’ conduct is manohar (will win overminds of others) and vinay humility is very high.

First, one must have the speech, then theconduct and then humility; all three must winover people’s minds. The conduct of the Gnani,his speech and his humility are such that theywin your mind. Even though the Gnani is soelevated, his humility is matchless. So what isit that wins others’ minds? All these, the speech,the conduct and the humility, all are manoharthey win over the minds of all.

A person is appealing because of vinayahumility. And humility is a high state in spiritualand worldly evolution. Moksha is attained withabsolute humility otherwise, one cannot attainmoksha. There is no moksha without absolutehumility—param vinaya.

Speech must be thus. What is the use ofspeech that hurts others?

So the speech should be such that willnot hurt anyone in the family or out there in therelative world. If someone were to hurt oneperson in the family then can he not hurt morepeople? So he has the stock for sure. We donot need such stock at all. The Gnani Purushdoes not have such stock. The speech, conductand humility of the Gnani Purush are manohar.

People try to speak a lot but cannot speakright. They try to speak right but again theyend up in a fiasco with the wrong speech.

Questioner: Why does that happen?

Dadashri: It is not under our control. Itis a record. The way you had taped this recordin your past life that is how it will play and theGnani Purush is now here having cleansed thatrecord over and over again in the past lives.The Gnani Purush has brought forth such abeautiful record that it accomplishes the

salvation of the world.

The moksha is inevitable at the locationwhere there is the one, whose speech, conductand humility are manohar. One cannot attainmoksha if there is the slightest himsa violenceor partiality in speech.

This unprecedented speech is amazing

‘Our’ speech is unique; it is speech thathas never been heard before. If you keeplistening to ‘our’ speech, and absorb and support(dharan) it within, and speak exact same words,then during that time the chit will begin tobecome amazingly focused.

The speech that I speak breaks the veilsof ignorance over You—the Self and that iswhy you begin to understand, otherwise you donot have capacity to understand even a word.

The Gnani Purush has only talks that areof benefit to all. Even if you understand onlytwo of His words, it is enough. If you understandjust two of His words and if you take them toheart and digest only one of the two words,that word will not leave you until You attainliberation. That is how much energy there isbehind the Gnani’s words (vachanbud). That ishow effective these words are - vachan siddhi.

The speech should be beneficial, brief,pleasant and truth

It should have the following four qualities:It should be beneficial to others (hiit), it shouldbe brief and to the point (miit), it should bepleasant to the listener (prit) and it should bethe truth (satya). No matter how true whatyou say is, what good is it if it is not pleasantto the other person? This is a task for only theGnani. Only a Gnani has speech with all fourof these qualities. Whatever he says is alwaysfor the benefit of others; his speech is neveruttered for his own self-gain. The Gnani has noownership of any element of the non-Self

(potapanu). If there is even a hint of ownership,then he is not a Gnani.

Gnani’s speech is dependent upon thewishes of the other person

The speech of the Gnani is dependentupon the wishes of the other person. Gnanispeaks depending on other person’s wish. Whywould I have the need to speak? The Gnani’sspeech emanates purely for fulfilling the wishesof others.

Experiential ‘Gnan’ – ‘Vignan’

‘Gnani Purush’ has ‘seen’ andexperienced Atma—the Self, that is why whena ‘Gnani Purush’ speaks, from all angles andperspective, it is pure only.

There is infinite scriptural knowledge inevery word I speak. If a person understandsthese words and acts accordingly, he willachieve salvation. This science is such that youwill have to take only one more birth beforeachieving liberation! You will forego hundredsof thousands of rebirths. With this science youwill get rid of all your attachment andabhorrence and will become vitarag (void ofattachment). When you achieve a state ofaguru-laghu (balanced state of the Self ) therewill be endless advantage of this science.

Whatever I speak is Gnan. The onewhose intellect has become samyak right a little,samyak means with fragrance, he canunderstand this Gnan immediately. Gnan isunderstood by intellect but Gnan cannot bespoken through intellect. One cannot speak thisVignan—science through intellect. Vignanmeans it is like chaitanya Gnan that by whichlife is evident, the Self. It works automatically.

The one with a pure heart canunderstand the Gnani’s language

Questioner: Some people cannot

understand the Gnani’s bhasha language.

Dadashri: But how can they understand?One can understand only if moha illusiondecreases. As long as the inner confusion dueto the illusion, ‘I am Chandulal’ exists, one willnot understand. He can understand after mohadissipates. One needs to have merit karma anda pure heart to understand the Gnani’s language.One can recognize and see it right away if theheart is pure. However people’s hearts are filledwith ego laden impurities kashaya and thereforethey cannot understand. To understand theGnani’s language, one should have a pure heart.The one with impurities can understandeverything else of the relative side, the languageof the worldly life.

One will attain salvation if he learns ‘our’words and follows them accordingly. He willattain salvation if he learns even just one wordof the Gnani Purush. Otherwise, when will youprogress from the third standard to the fourth?Instead of that, Dada will place you in the firstyear after matriculation. Other people are inthe fifth and the sixth standard. One will notpass even the third standard through his owneffort. Instead, do what Dada tells you andyour problems will be solved.

The energy of the speech of the GnaniPurush

There is tremendous energy in every wordof a Gnani Purush. This energy of word is suchthat everyone will stand up if I say so. Wheneveryone does what is being asked of them;that is vachanbud. With this vachanbud thesentences become siddha accomplish the intent.

The energy of Dada’s speech isextraordinary. What are our words like? Theyare not words of the scriptures; words in thescriptures are inanimate, whereas ‘our’ wordsare living. The direct energy of the manifestSelf within these words awakens the Self within

the listener, without fail. It will awaken the Self!Furthermore, they will not hurt in the least. Nota single word of the Gnani will be fruitless.There is tremendous and extraordinary energyin the Gnani’s speech. The world will leap withawe at every word of the Gnani. Even just onesentence of the Gnani will take you to moksha.

Kavi has sung :

'Jagat udaya avatar, deshna tey shrutagnan,

Syadvaad Gnan-daan, sarvamaanyaparman.'

When the world is ready to prosper, aGnani will manifest. Gnani’s speech when heardis the gift of knowledge, which liberates and allaccept this knowledge.

A Gnani manifests when the time is goodfor the world. His words (deshna) liberate andrepresent the knowledge meant to be heard(shrutagnan). A single sentence of Hisencompasses volumes of scriptures.

It is written in the scriptures that onemust always speak the truth but people saythey are not able to do so. People are lookingfor scriptures that are applicable to the era ofthis current time cycle of Kaliyug so that theycan get their work done. New scriptures willbe written that will prevent the deleterious effectof the current time cycle upon people and takethem to moksha. The ‘medicine’ the scripturespreach to us, to speak the truth, to be kind, tokeep peace etc., is outdated medicine. Nowwe will need new medicine. Your intent (bhaav)must be to speak only the truth, and if youmake a mistake, you have to tell ‘Chandubhai’to do pratikraman. ‘Our’ words will break allveils of ignorance; the energy of the Gnani’sspeech is such that it gives complete clarificationwithin.

There is infinite energy in every word of‘ours—the Gnani Purush’s’. That is why each

and every word grows—blossoms within. Therest of the speeches—of non Gnani spiritualmasters—do not grow and blossom within. Theyhave sown such seeds in the spiritual farm forendless lives, and yet not a single word yieldsany fruit.

If a single word of the Gnani Purush isabsorbed then it will eradicate all diseases within.Once it has taken hold, it will not leave theowner. This speech has tremendous energy!This is why all the work gets done without readinganything. It happens automatically, does it not?

Questioner: Dada, how can one attainvachanbud?

Dadashri: Speak as much truth as youunderstand. There is no problem if do not sayanything when you do not understand. It willincrease your vachanbud by that much. Youshould decide, ‘I do not want to speak in amanner that will hurt anyone’ and continue toask for the energy of vachanbud from ‘Dada’and you will attain it. There has to be a strongdesire on your part and my vachanbud. Myvachanbud will remove all your obstacles. Youwill be tested but you will come through.

Misuse (durvyaya) of speech is whenone uses it to frighten people, animals, tells liesand employs deceit. This is why the energy ofspeech deteriorates. Energy of speech can beattained if you speak only the truth and also ifyou do not insist on the truth. If one lies forselfish purpose the speech and mind willdeteriorate. One may well speak the truth butthere must be firm intentions for the benefit ofothers behind it. The energy of the speechshould be like that of this ‘Dada’.

The secret of the energy of the Gnani’sspeech

Each and every word of mine has chetan(life) in it. Speech is in the form of a record, it

is inanimate, but my speech first touches thefully manifested divine (pragat Parmatma)within me, before it comes out. That is why itis living speech that gives life to the non-living(nischetan – prior to Self-realization one isdead to the Self. This living speech awakensand brings to life that which had remained‘dead’ for countless lives). All that is neededis your intent. If I were to ask a person tojump, he will jump even when there is a ten-foot deep hole. Many people tell me that I amdoing shaktipat (transfer of energy). No, it isthe energy behind my speech. If someone isdepressed, I let him drink through my eyes.The Gnani Purush can awaken energies in anyway he wants. The energy of the Gnani’sspeech can completely solve all confusion withinyou. When you sit with me here, the wholeworld will drift into oblivion; that is called moksha!

The Gnani’s Speech is beneficialbecause the intent is very deep

‘Our’ speech has such an energy thatyou may think that it is going to cause a loss,but it will not let that happen. ‘Our’ speech hassuch energy. The reason is that there is suchdeep and great inner intent in it that it willnever hurt anyone at all. Every word has thatdeep inner intent. Even a wrong word will turnright and work for the benefit of the other.

Questioner: You had said that if onewere to understand one sentence of yours, hiswork will be done.

Dadashri: If one sentence isswallowed—accepted as it is, then his work isdone. That much medicine is there in that onesentence. He will be blessed if only onesentence is swallowed. So drinking it with joyand digesting it, gets the work done. When willthe joy arise? The more one understands theessence and the more he understands its worth,the greater will be his joy.

Tremendous energy in the Gnani’s speech

‘Our’ energy of words vachanbud andyour unflinching determination, if these twomultiply then, no one has the power to changeit. Such is the energy of our words. What ‘we’are saying to you is that be unflinchingly firmand never waver. Your decision must be firmthat Dada’s Agna is verily the religion and Agnais verily the main thing.

The energy of ‘our’ speech works insuch a way that it will let you follow-doeverything, and yet will destroy all karma. Thereis tremendous energy in this vachanbud it getsthe work—beginning till ultimate liberation—done. If one does not flinch or blink even afraction then there is no energy, which canmove him! If a karma can shake-sway it thenhow can one call it vachanbud? TheVitarags—the fully enlightened ones who haveliberated millions, have given topmost marks andpraise to vachanbud and manobud energy ofthe mind, however they have held dehabudthe energy of body beastly. There is noimportance with dehabud, there is importance of,and meaning to vachanbud the energy of speech !

From bankruptcy to wealth

It is possible to attain anything throughthe energy of ‘our’ speech. I help you to washevery fault that has happened until now. I helpyou to get rid of your debt. Is it not good?From now onwards, do not create any newdebt again. Since I cleared your debt you haduntil now, all the troubles are gone, aren’t they?Otherwise, once you create a debt, it willincrease more and more. And then with thishuge burden one becomes callous and non-caring saying, ‘what does it matter?’ This thenleads to bankruptcy and auction of the shop.

Really speaking this science is such that‘we’ cannot say, ‘you do this way or do that’,but this current time cycle of Kaliyug is such.

There is no telling what these people will do orwhere they will end up. He may even take thewrong path after taking this Gnan, and that iswhy ‘we’ have to speak and there is no problembecause there is vachanbud in what I say. Hedoes according to my speech and therefore hehas no responsibility of the doer-ship. ‘We’ tellyou, ‘do this way’ then you are not liable, andin this there is no liability on ‘us’ either.

The words of the Gnani Purush are suchthat even a strong man will shit in his pants.But, as long as one has the capacity to absorbthem, he is considered worthy of them, andlater the change happens. The purging happenswithout a purgative. My words cleanseeverything without a purgative; they purge notthe bowels, but the mind. These words purgethe ego, they purge vishaya sexual inclinations,and they purge mamata my-ness.

The Gnanvani purges sexuality

Questioner: How is it that the sentencesof a Gnani Purush can purge the vishayasexuality?

Dadashri: One becomes free fromsexuality day by day otherwise one will notaccomplish anything in spite of reading the booksfor a hundred thousand life times.

Questioner: Why is it possible that Hisspeech has such an effect?

Dadashri: His sentence is very powerfuland energizing! Can we not understand howmuch energy lie in his words, on the mention ofthe purgative effect?

Questioner: How would the Gnani haveattained such vachanbud?

Dadashri: When one is nirvishayi freefrom all impulses of sexuality in mind, speechand body, then only the energy of speech isattained, otherwise one cannot find the energy

of speech which can eradicate sexuality. Whenhe is totally free from all impulses of sexualityin mind, speech and action then only he canpurge the sexual passions through his words.The speech of the Gnani Purush is able to purgethe sexual impulses and sexuality vishaya. Theone who cannot purge sexuality in others is nota Gnani.

Behold the compassion of the Gnani

The Gnani Purush will show you whatever‘disease’ there may be within. He will not showyou any other faults (dosh). This is becauseHe wants to cure you of the disease. Do doctorscure a patient’s disease or increase it? Besides,are ‘we’ saying all this for our own goal orbenefit? ‘We’ are saying all this especially foryou and that too with vitaragata—absolute andcomplete detachment. The disease will not beeradicated without stern words. What removesthis disease? Vitaragata and stern words! Thesternness in those words is such that it willbreak every joint in your body. And at the sametime those words are filled with completevitaragata.

Stern but vitarag speech

Why are the words of the Gnani stern?It is because he speaks fearlessly whereas thewhole world speaks out of fear. One fears afather-God above, or has fear of binding karma.However Gnani Purush does not have any fearat all. The one who binds karma has the fear.The Gnani will tell the world the fact as it is.He will tell it to anyone in the world, the fact,as it is. This is because he does not wantanything in this world. Fear is for the one whohas the unshakable greed and desire for anythingworldly. The Gnani does not want anything inthe world then will he feel the fear? He is theemperor-Lord of the universe.

The only selfless one in the world

You will find my words a little stern, but

if it is liberation that you seek, then I will haveto deliver to you some heavy, well-measured,unyielding words. If you do not want liberationand want to remain in this worldly life, then Iwill offer you flowers. So only, you must decidewhat you want.

You will never find anyone who will speaksuch truth and that is because I have no self-interest. Only those who have nothing to gaincan speak the naked truth. Others will flatteryou with respectful gestures because of theirself-interest.

Otherwise, who will stick his hand in thisstinking mud? But even if just one human beingis helped, he can then help so many others.And when ‘we’ scold anyone, it is with theintention to liberate. Otherwise, who would scoldin this way? Who would ruin the mind? Thisscolding is for the salvation (kalyan) of thatperson. A father scolds his son to exercise hisfatherhood. More than the welfare of the son,he has the intense beggary to be the father. Ifa husband is scolding his wife, he does it for hisbeggary of maintaining his superiority as ahusband (husband-hood; dhanipanu). But whenthe Gnani Purush scolds, He does it for thesalvation of that person.

Such stern speech is unusual and notbecoming of ‘us’ who are vitarag absolutelydetached, but what can ‘we’ do? The speechflows with a great vitaragata detached state,and absolute compassion to rid of their diseases.Their fault is not there either in this. They havestrong desire to attain moksha, but the wrongthing happens because of lack of understanding.Such a strange time has arrived. People aretrapped in its sandstorm.

One cannot reprimand without purity

Who has the authority to reprimandanyone in this world? Only Gnani Purush is

such who can reprimand everybody. GnaniPurush is not under anybody’s pressure orobligation in this world. There is no one whocan influence or bear pressure on the GnaniPurush in this world. It is because the one whodoes not want any thing in this world, he doesnot have beggary of any thing, why someonewill be able to impress or pressure him. If Iwant something from you then I will have theuneasiness and pressure that ‘you will not giveme what I want’. Therefore, the one who cannever be pressured is a Gnani Purush; he willsay it as it is.

‘We’ do not want anything in this worldfrom anybody. Yet I am saspruha completelyinclined. I am nispruha-saspruha completelydisinclined–completely inclined. I am withoutinclination in matters concerning the non-Selfor worldly matters, and I am with full ofinclination in matters concerning the Self. I dohave inclination spruha towards you but in thematter of the Self, I do not have any otherconcern. Your pudgal the relative self may bethin or big I do not have any concern. What doI need to do with pudgal the non-self at all? Iam bringing about closure of pudgal too. I amalso bringing about the closure of that whichexists. Besides what do I need to do with yourpudgal?

Only the words of the one who has nobeggary, expectations or desire for any worldlything will be effective. Otherwise the one withthe beggary of respect, fame, money or sexwill have ineffective words. It is only when oneis completely liberated from all these things thatGod hands over his authority to such a GnaniPurush.

The one who seeks something in returnwill not have effective speech. The one whodoes not want anything in return will have veryeffective speech. Exchange means he has desire

to gain something else in return. Here ‘I’ donot get anything in return, do I?

My speech is not soft, is it? Do you feelthat it is somewhat harsh?

Questioner: If it is soft then it is useless.

Dadashri: My talk is little hard to take,but it will purge everything within and cure allthe disease. There is nothing but sheer diseasewithin! If you go to some saint purush then hewill welcome you, ‘welcome brother, welcomesir, welcome welcome.’ He will keep onflattering you for his selfish interest. Hey, whyso much flattery and buttering? And thus again,he turns him on to the wrong path. Hey you, ifyou show him a straight path then he can lookfor a way further on. But he will keep onflattering. Do you like someone praising you ornot? If you really want to attain moksha youwill have to listen to ‘our’ harsh words. Thedisease from infinite life times has filled fromthe navel all the way up to the throat, now Iwill need to do operation and cure that diseaseby pulling with a pair of tongs. Therefore speakup from the start, I will not be able to leaveoperation half way once I put a pair of tongsinside, it will not work if you scream ‘oh, oh’afterwards. So what do you want, moksha orthe splendor of worldly life? Whatever you want,I am ready to give it to you.

Questioner: We definitely want moksha.

Dadashri: Then you will need to digestthese words of ‘ours’. You will need tounderstand.

Oneness with an opponent too

I met a big officer yet I told him off, thetruth. The reason is that I did not want anythingfrom him. My approach to him was, if youwant to listen the truth then listen and afterwardsif you want to curse, go ahead and do it. If you

get mad then you can go ahead and hurl anabuse. But you listen at least once. What arewe to do if he loses it—and becomes angry?Even if he is an opponent, I will not feel thathe is separate from me. I will feel the onenessand he may experience separation but I willhave oneness with him. If I experienceseparation with the opponent then I will havenegative feeling, dislike towards him. I do nothave dislike or negative feelings. At the time,stern words will come out from my mouth butI will not experience separateness. The wordsthat come out is a relative thing, but I will havevitaragata absolutely unaffected state inside.

The heat – energy of Dada

There is so much grace on this Dadathat no one can speak in his presence at all.Even if I were to use abusive words, he willnot be able to talk back. So what a graceDada has brought with him! What a splendorhe has!

Otherwise if you were to insult anopposing person, it will create a trouble. Hewill call the police and say, ‘he insulted me.’Hey, ‘who are you that we bother to insult?Where do you exist? For me what is respectand what is insult? When you get a tail; jumpas much is convenient to you!’ If we say likethis then he will feel ashamed. Who can speak?Why are you not getting in to fight, bapji? Noone can be provoked into a fight in front ofvitarag speech. Yes, no matter how harshly Ispeak, even then it is a vitarag speech! If youtry to speak some harsh words then he will callthe police and ask him to arrest you.

Questioner: No one will go up againstvitarag speech.

Dadashri: No one would say anythingeven if I were to abuse him verbally. See, howmany people were sitting, was I not speaking in

front of him? But do you think people wouldhave considered my fault? ‘What is this thatDada spoke? How can he speak like this?’Would anyone feel that?

Questioner: No, nobody.

Dadashri: These words being spoken willcreate a lot of force. It will bite you at night.Besides these words are with vitaragata—thereis no speaker. One will not feel bad; it will notmake one angry. If you tell someone that ‘youhave no sense’ then he will not speak with youfor fifteen years. That is why vitaragata is tobe brought in.

You cannot say anything to anyone. Andif you tell him then he will not listen to you. Youcan tell him with vitaragata. Vitarag speechmeans it is acceptable to even your opponent.That much is the energy of speech vachanbud!If it is acceptable to even your opponent thenonly a person will change otherwise he will notturn, will he? It is difficult to change a person.It is very difficult to bring a change in prakrutithe innate nature of one’s relative self.

Questioner: But the one who is newand comes here, may feel it rather harsh. Theone who has not accepted this Dada’s Gnanyet and feels little uncomfortable here Dada,he will feel that Dada is very strict.

Dadashri: Oh, he will think I am verystrict! If he is sitting here aimlessly, even thenhe will feel the heat.

By telling him that he is stupid, hisstupidity left

Once it happened. I told someone, ‘youare stupid.’ He later told me, that he hadchanged tremendously, and wanted me to saysomething more along this lines. I told him thatI could not do that. Greed had taken hold ofhim. After his stupidity left, do I need to do

other things or not? And he was asking me tosay something else. Do I have time for that?That word came out just because of his meritkarma punya. Otherwise it will not come out.How is it possible for me to speak such insultingwords? The stern words that come out fromthe Gnani’s speech will not cause anyindigestion.

Rebuke without contempt

Questioner: Dada, I feel that your word‘mooah’ (special exclamation used by Dadashrito shake up the listener), is very meaningful.

Dadashri: I keep using the word‘mooah’, what do I mean by it? Mooah—theone who is dying—is a very profound word.There is mild rebuke in it but no contempt.Even though I speak a rural dialect, it is veryenergizing. Each sentence incites one to startthinking. Because this speech comes from theheart of the Gnani, it is the direct living Saraswati(Goddess of Knowledge).

Speech unfolds according to vyavaharbetween individuals

With whatever vyavahar—back andforth interaction through thoughts, speech andaction—the account was created or wound inthe past life, with such a vyavahar it will unfold(unwind) in this life. When you ask me, “Dadawhy do you not tell me off when I makemistakes?”, ‘we’ will tell you, “You have notbrought such a vyavahar with us. ‘We’ havealready alerted you and cautioned you basedon whatever extra vyavahar you had broughtwith you. You did not bring any more vyavaharthan that.” Gnani Purush never has harshspeech and if His speech comes out harshlyfor others, ‘we’ do not like it. And despite thisif ‘we’ ever speak harshly, ‘we’ immediatelyrealize that such is the vyavahar ‘we’ havebrought with that person. The words that comeout are in accordance with the vyavahar of

the person one is dealing with. The speech ofthe Gnani Purush is nimit evidentiary instrument,dependent. The speech of the vitarag, or theGnani who has no ambitions, no desires, noraag-dwesh, is nimit dependent. The speechof the Gnani can never be hurtful to others.The Gnani Purush does not have the time toinsult anyone. Nevertheless, someone withtremendous punyas will have the rare occasionto be scolded by the Gnani. This person’svyavahar is such that in order to rid him of his‘disease’, the Gnani has to speak to him in aharsh manner. Otherwise, why would ‘we’ doso? The Gnani gives liberation in just one hour,why would he have a reason to insult anyone?But these harsh words come forth in order torid the other person of all his ‘diseases’.

What does Kavi say?

‘The one whom Dada calls ‘mooah’(mortal)! becomes ajar amar (ageless andimmortal). When dada ‘tells off’ someone byreferring to him as a ‘mooah’, it will destroymany of his sins. Dada’s insult, on the contrary,is a blessing for him.’

Someone may ask, ‘Why is Dadaspeaking harshly with this man?’ What can Dadado when the man has brought such avyavahar? Some people are worthless and yetDada will not raise his voice at them. Doesthat not tell you how wonderful a vyavaharthey have brought? Those who have broughtharsh vyavahar with them will experience harshwords from ‘us’.

Stern words, through vitaragata

Questioner: What kind of speech comesout when chakravarti an emperor goes to LordTirthankara? Will the pride maan of theemperor king dissolve?

Dadashri: Yes, his ego will dissolve. Thespeech of the vitarag Lord is so magnificent.

How can we say anything about the speech ofvitarag!

Questioner: Many people with hugeego-pride find their pride melting in front ofDada.

Dadashri: Yes, everybody’s pride willmelt here.

Questioner: That man was here. Atfirst he said he will not touch to your feet, butfinally he did and then left.

Dadashri: He touched the feet andfurthermore he left after giving a glorious tributesaying, ‘dwandvatita—beyond the dualities’.

This (speech) taped record can breakyour joints. Many times very energizing wordscome forth and the diseases of people are curedimmediately too. One word is able to cure manykinds of diseases.

Pratikraman after stern scolding

Questioner: Dada, you had reprimandedthat big businessman over there. At that timethe speech was very stern, what do you haveto do for that?

Dadashri: ‘We’ have to dopratikraman—apology coupled with the remorseof any wrongdoing for that. It will not workwithout pratikraman. We do not have suchauthority.

Questioner: Dada, when a GnaniPurush is rebuking someone, is pratikramangoing on at the same time (simultaneously)?

Dadashri: No, it cannot be done.Pratikraman can occur after a few minutes. Ifpratikraman occurred simultaneously then thescolding will stop; there would be no scolding.Doing pratikraman will not let me proceedfurther. On the contrary it will prevent me fromachieving my goal (of purging his disease), I

would not allow that to happen before I havecompleted my task of the purging.

If a person were to create trouble in thiswhole satsang then I will say, ‘hey you unworthyfellow, you will not have authority over here.’‘We’ would speak with such vitaragata to stopharassment in satsang. Nevertheless the turmoilwill arise within, ‘he is a worthless, he is a verybad person, he is like this and like that.’ So‘we’ will say that, ‘he is a helpful one—helpfulfor awareness’, then everything will calm down.We said before that, if one becomes Chandulaland insults someone then ‘he – the non-selfego’ will prefer that, and those dogs—the jadabhaav, the wrong beliefs—will keep barking(jada bhaav—the belief of one’s existence inthe matter—the non-Self, ‘I am eating, I amthe doer.’). It is because all different kinds ofbhaavs exist inside. The whole world is puzzledin these jada bhaavs. One is chetan the Selfand is caught up in the puzzles of the non-Self,in jada bhaav wrong belief ‘I am Chandulal,I am the doer’ in the world. ‘We’ are makingyou free from that jada bhaav.

Heed the Gnani’s warning about preaching

This is the path of the vitarag Lords(the omniscient One, free from attachment).This path has many dangers for the preacher.To utter even a single word, carries tremendousliability.

This is why I say, you simply have theright to do swadhyaya (study of the Self); youdo not have the right to give updesh (preach).If in spite of this you preach, then because youpreach in the presence of kashayas within,you will go to hell. The one who listens to youwill not go to hell. Despite being a Gnani, Ihave to speak sternly in this way. There istremendous compassion behind what I amsaying. What reason does a Gnani have to bestern? For which reason does the one who is

constantly in the state of bliss, constantly in thestate of the Self, need to speak such sternwords? Despite being a Gnani, I have to saythis: ‘Beware! Keep studying.’ You can tellpeople, ‘I am studying the scriptures and let usall study together.’ But you must not preach inthe presence of kashayas.

Currently all preachers carry atremendous liability. But people do not knowthis or understand this and that is why theygive sermons. You should check and testyourself to see whether you are an updeshak(a preacher). An updeshak should be free fromartadhyan and raudradhyan (adverse internalmeditation). It does not matter if one has notattained shukladhyan (the meditation as theSelf) because his dharmadhyan (virtuousmeditation, a state void of artadhyan andraudradhyan) is increasing. However, if hecontinues to experience artadhyan andraudradhyan, then the liability is his. The Lordhas said that as long as there is anger, pride,deceit and greed within; do not preach toanyone.

The speech flows without prior thoughts

The sentences that flow are filled withgreat responsibilities. No one can refute thesentences that are being uttered. No words goto waste; it is scriptures in the making. Arethese words being spoken after a lot of thought?

One woman says, ‘whatever this Dadaspeaks, he thinks too much before he speaks.’Then I said to her, ‘you are the only one Ifound who knows how to appreciate my speech(!). I have not found any one else.’ She thoughtin her mind that ‘how is it possible to speak sopromptly and without contradiction? So speechcannot come forth without prior thinking.’ ThenI said, ‘I took a note of your content. However,really I do not think at all! I speak withoutthinking.’ Then she says, ‘oh, can such thing

happen in the world? You speak so beautifully,without any error! You do think a lot and thenyou are speaking.’ I said, ‘no, such speechcomes forth because I do not think at all beforeI speak. I do not have to think. A person whothinks before he speaks would be confused allthe time.’ Was I speaking this after thinking?No this was a taped record that is playing. IfI speak after thinking then instead of ‘I wantedto do’, I would speak something similar carryinga different meaning, and again I would need tochange the sentence, can you understand this?

Thoughts have already occurredpreviously. In the past life, the karmic accountsand thoughts all happened before the currentarrangement that is unfolding precisely.

The eternal nature of the speech of TheGnani Purush

Our Gnani’s experiments are such that‘we’ ‘see’ every kriya-activity. That is why Icall this speech, a record! As this record plays,I observe what is playing and what is notplaying. The responsibility for each and everysentence spoken is on ‘us’. My sentences areeternally true. That is why they are beingrecorded on tapes and that is why books havebeen compiled and published from them. Thespeech has come forth after ‘seeing’ and‘experiencing’, and that is why it liberateshuman beings.

‘We’ are ready to explain every word,which was spoken twenty years ago. ‘We’ carrythe responsibility. Even then ‘we’ do not havekevalgnan absolute knowledge. ‘Our’kevalgnan is short by four degrees.

Many scientists and critical thinkers askedme, ‘how do you speak all this?’ I said, ‘Ispeak as I see it. I do not speak from what Ihave read in a book. I am not giving answersfrom the book. Not even a word that I utter is

from a book.’ My speech is not based on anybook. This is a fact, this is correct. WhateverI am saying has never been heard before. TheGnan is from the past and has remained exactlythe same. There is no difference in the light itgives. The difference is only in the way thereality is explained. One can understand thistalk exactly, that this is how the strategy of theworld is.

Wonder of Dadavani

Questioner: Yes, that is right. But Dadasome times exact words come out in yourspeech. Exact words come forth, which arewritten in the Gita or the Bhagwat.

Dadashri: Yes, exact words come out.

Questioner: At that time I think thatwhen did you go to read this? I would notbelieve if someone were to tell me that Dadahad read this.

Dadashri: No, no, not like this. That isright. This speech does not exist in books thathave been read before. This speech is thecorrect speech.

Questioner: No not like that. The wayyour background is, in your old times, at thattime this thing did not exist at all, not a chance.

Dadashri: No, it has arisen without doinganything. It is possible to publish hundreds ofthousands of books from this speech.

Questioner: That is right. It isswayambhu self-existent. I saw that way. Ittakes minimum four hours to complete the wholeGnan Vidhi. We notice that for that long fourhours other disturbance does not arise at theage of seventy-six whether it is winter, monsoonor summer season.

Dadashri: That is a remarkable thing!Then only people can attain salvation. Otherwisesalvation cannot occur.

Questioner: And your speech isexperiential. So at what level does this speechtouch the receiver-listener?

Dadashri: Those who have taken ourGnan will have a direct adjustment for sure andthe other person (the one who has not takenGnan ) will also feel peace and calm, he willthink that this talk is correct. The reason is thathe has a soul too.

Questioner: Does it awaken one aftertouching the very root, the very core?

Dadashri: It will not remain withouttouching. That is why even without taking Gnanpeople take books with them. They proclaim‘so wonderful, so wonderful’. What are youtalking! That means the speech has touchedhim. Without this how can he say that this is sowonderful?

Questioner: True, Dada. I had thatexperience myself too.

Dadashri: Yes, that is right. You peopleare the writers, literary people. You do get theexperience, then what experience other peoplewould be having? On the contrary the one whohas lack of understanding will experience more,since he has no interference—intellectual doubts!

Questioner: Yes, yes, right. We wouldcreate interference inside.

Dadashri: Yes, you would. Those peopleare ignorant, so they will not create interferenceat all. He will feel peace and calm immediately.However you found out based on yourinterference that, ‘you have experience like this!’Then how much truth will be in that matter?All this is unique and original. Everything is pure.

Questioner: This is not a routinetradition.

Dadashri: No, no. Every word of ‘our’will take you moksha. This is an experiential

speech. This is a practical speech. That otherspeech says, ‘do this way’, that is gnan. Itshows something else through gnan. And whatI have experienced that is what I am tellingyou. Therefore, you will experience this. Thisis called anubhuti experience.

He comes down to our level to explainthe Gnan to us

Questioner: Even after deep and minutethinking we are not able to grasp the totality ofthe Gnan that Dada has attained.

Dadashri: You would not be able to doso; it is of a very high level. I have to comedown to a lower level in order to talk to youabout it. This Gnan is of such a high level thatI have to bring it down to a lower level forpeople to understand it, but even then peopleare not able to understand it completely. Peoplewill not understand a word of what I say if Italked about Gnan at the higher level.

Questioner: Dada when I first came toyou I learned that in order to explain things,you come down to the level of the person youare addressing whereas elsewhere people haveto rise to the level of the Gnani if they want tounderstand anything.

Dadashri: Yes, I have to come down totheir level otherwise I will not succeed. Theywill not be able to understand me. I have toapply a ‘counter pulley’ and come down totheir level.

Solutions unfolded all the way to Kevalgnan

Questioner: Dada, when we ask youquestions, your answers are exact and instant,but they are not from any scriptures. So wheredo these answers come from?

Dadashri: When I answer yourquestions, I do not think or read anything. I saywhat I see in kevalgnan absolute knowledge.

silence is golden. And to speak is to dissipateenergy.

Dadashri: This 79 th year of life is startingand yet I speak for 10 hours a day. On theDiwali Day I speak even longer, and yet this issilence. Do you attempt to control the speechever?

Questioner: So with the excessspeaking, one becomes a fraction of the whole.

Dadashri: Do you know what theexperts of scriptures have said regardingspeech? They have said that all speech thathas been said for the Self is silence. And theworld defines silence differently. As long asany signal of communication continues, it is notsilence, says the Lord. They do communicatethrough signals. That is not silence. Dada speaksall day and yet he is silent. Why? This is becausethere is no worldly aim in these talks. Thereare worldly talks but the aim is not of the world,but it is of the Self (atma lakshi). If there isany worldly talk, it is ultimately for the aim ofsalvation of the other and therefore it is silence.The Lord has said that this speech, which isconstantly flowing all day, is silence, saiyamcontrol over speech. Silence even whenspeaking. The Lord has said that where thereis no worldly aim in speech, it is only about theSoul and Supreme Soul, it is silence. The worldlyspeech is called speech. How wise is the Lord.All that I say is the speech of silence.

If one has taken the vow of silence, fora worldly aim, then even when there is silence,it is not silence (amaun). To speak for the Self,even all day long, is silence, total silence. Whyhave the writers of scriptures called this silence?This is because there is no effect on the bodywhen one speaks exclusively for and of theSelf. All this day long talking of mine, if it wereto have any effect on the body, it would havefinished me.

What you hear and see is the light ofkevalgnan. All this speech is throughkevalgnan. There are only few gneya (objectto be known) of kevalgnan that I do not see—know. This is kevalgnan of dushamkaal—thetime of strife.

Solutions that address the state startingfrom ignorance all the way to kevalgnan havecome up here; they can never be found in anyscriptures; this is unprecedented. These talksare very subtle indeed. These are not talks ata gross level. These talks have surpassed thegross (sthool), subtle (sookshma), subtler(sookshmatar) levels and is the talk of thesubtlest (sookshmatam) level. Therefore, getyour work done. The one who has heard thisdirectly is bound to have the words grow fromwithin. Not a single word is going to go towaste. One will absorb them according to hisability and capacity to digest them. This speechis itself kevalgnan. Where the intellect comesto an end; matignan (knowledge attainedthrough sense perceptions and the mind) comesto an end; that is where stands the kevalgnan.The light which has been produced, is verilyfrom kevalgnan.

Where there is Atmagnan there issilence of the sages

This ‘record’ of ours (the speech ofDadashri) keeps playing all day long, but eventhen I am silent. Our speech has no other intentexcept for the salvation of the other person(atmartha). Such a silence is one of a muni.Whereas, these other munis while being silentare filled with inner conflicts. How can they becalled munis? I am a ‘mahamuni’ (the greatsilent one). I am absolutely silent. This is thesilence of the highest order (parmarth, for theSelf).

Questioner: In talks of the Self if oneis present for even 48 minutes, he becomeslight as a flower.

Dadashri: In worldly speech and talks,a lot of energy is wasted and discharged. Andthis talk of, and for the Self, does not waste ordischarge any energy and does not affect thebody in any way. This is because there is noselfish intent in this. The speech is beneficial tothe Self (swa, here) and others around (par).At the feet of the Gnani all speech and talk isuseful for all. Such speech helps the Self andthe relative self (Chandulal).

Gnanvani in the form of the ultimateessence of knowledge

Questioner: I have a question that somepeople give religious discourses, they preach,and if they preach on the topic related to theSoul and you talk about Atma—the Self too.So what is the difference between theirpreaching and your talks?

Dadashri: ‘Ours’ is the message ofexperience—experience as the Self. Thisupdesh spiritual message is kriyakari bringsresults. What you hear will come to fruition.The discourse and message of any one else(non- Gnani) will not come to fruition—workfrom within. The Lord has qualified this askriyakari Gnan—knowledge that works fromwithin. The Lord has also said that thatknowledge which does not bring results isshushka gnan.

The religious discourse-lecture is calleda religion. The speech of a saint purush is calleda marma deep meaning of dharma religion andwhen one attains hundred percent deep meaningof dharma then gnanark absolute essence ofknowledge starts to rise. Whereas this ours isthe absolute essence of knowledge gnanark.

Farther than this, nothing more remains to beknown.

The speech that I ‘speak’ is of a verypeak level. This fact is of very high level. Ifpeople standing down at a lower level ask mea question about what is up there and if I wantto give them information then they will notunderstand if I just speak from up there so Ihave to come down to a lower level in order totalk to them. So I have to talk to them in theirlanguage for them to understand.

Gnanvani is verily the foundation

Questioner: I have been so verygratefully impressed that this is the only such aGnani Purush whose every sentence has a solidfoundation. Those who had become saints inthe past and those who exist now, there is nobase any where in the sentences of their speech.

Dadashri: In current times, there is nobase in any speech at any place. He himself issupport less. I would tell him that he himself iswithout any support. So how can his speechhave any base? If he were to ask me how ishe without support, then I would explain to him.What support he has? If you were to slap himor assault him then his reaction will show thathe has reached the shore (!). After then will hestay without exploding or will you need to lightwith a matchstick?

Questioner: He will explodecontinuously.

Wonderful speech of this current time cycle

Questioner: When you are speaking atthat time such a wonderful sentences comeforth, that we just marvel and continue seeingthe face of the Gnani…

Dadashri: At that time you should dothe darshan devotional viewing. You should dolike this (by folding two hands) it is the absolute

state. When such sentence comes forth, at thattime ‘we’ remain as gnata-drashta—knower-seer. The state may shift a little after the speechis out, but you should do the darshan.Compared to the darshan of the absolute state,this other is a little less.

That is why the satsang now taking placeis extraordinary like before because all is seenwith purity. This purity gets clouded wheneverthere is any discussion about worldly mattersand so you do not get the full benefit from it.I do not loose my own bliss but those aroundme do not get the full benefit. If you wantpeople to get full benefit of this Gnan, you haveto keep me pure—less involved in relativematters. Keep ‘us’ distant and separate fromworldly matters. Nature took care of this forme by keeping me away from home when Ifractured my leg. Even Hiraba told me, ‘Youshould stay wherever your health is bestserved.’

Then flow the words of the ultimate(absolute) speech. The speech that comes outis of the highest order. The speech that hascome out so far has been extraordinary. Eachsentence has been such that it will bringsalvation to so many.

One can never compare this speech

Questioner: Dada, having experiencedyour compassion we feel that we need to haveananyapanu exclusive devotion to You only.

Dadashri: Exclusive means when youfeel this is the only absolute truth (eternal-Self) then you should get safely all the waythrough and get into the very depth of it. Youshould not compare with others. It is not easyto compare.

One man came here with pure goldjewelry, another person came with rolled-goldjewelry and they say both are similar. So the

one who really knows the difference what willhe say? Both will look alike, you can experiencethe same, but you cannot gain anything. Andyou cannot evaluate to that extent. Humanbeings do not have that ability. Who has thecapacity and ability to compare and evaluatethis Dada’s speech? At least find one personwho has this energy. This is Saraswati (Goddessof speech). This speech here (Dada’s speech)is pratyaksh direct Saraswati. How can oneevaluate or compare this speech with anything?I am saying all this my self. This speech is notmine. This speech is a taped record. I say thisspeech is true Saraswati. But you cannotcompare even one sentence of anybody withthis speech. You cannot find anything in theworld to come close to it. This is a magnificentspeech.

You should not judge even one word here.The very effort of attempting to judge will getyour intellect measured. To say, ‘this is just likethat’, is the measurement and judgment.However, words are similar. Are we going toget words from other place? But every wordof ‘ours’ has life (Chetan – the Self) in it.Chetan words do not exist in the world. Thisword has the energy of turning the nischetaninto chetan i.e. the relative self into the realSelf. So you should not compare one word ofthis with anybody. Therefore, do not compare.However, until one understands the differencebetween the rolled-gold and the pure gold, wecannot fight with him, can we?

Akram Gnani – the living Upanishad

Questioner: I have read the scripturesof Upanishad. I have also read thecommentaries on the Bhagavad Gita. I havealso read the Sankhya philosophy of Kapil Muni.However after attending these satsangs ofDadashri, I am finding some places where thesescriptures have errors. This is because the

analysis of the scripture is presented throughthe medium of one’s intellect and individual view.

Dadashri: It is all written according toones individual intellect. This here, to listen tothe fresh speech of the Gnani Purush constitutesnew scriptures.

I am considered the talking Upanishad(sacred Hindu text); the living Upanishad. Theother is a book. So which is the true Upanishad?The one that is living is the true Upanishad. Ifyou were to accept my words as true, then itwill be of tremendous benefit to you. The othersare merely words that have been written throughthe ego whereas these are words void of theego.

When the Gnani is present, one must notrefer to or take the support of any scripture.The experts of scriptures (Shasta purush) havewritten the scriptures. When the Gnani is notaround, then they may be used. There is noGnan in the scriptures. The scriptures are gross.What is a word? A word is a gross thing. Thereis no subtle, no subtler or subtlest meaning inthe scripture. The scripture is only gross food.Therefore, when the Gnani is present, thesewords are of no use. Be it the four Vedas ofthe Hindus or the four Anuyogas of the Jains,they are not of any use. The Gnani is superiorto all these Vedas and Anuyogas. Each andevery word of the Gnani is exact.

The speech of the Gnani is natural(sahaj), is also called deshna (the speech thatliberates) and is considered the living goddessof speech (pratyaksh Saraswati). WhereSaraswati exists there is no error. That is whyI do not mention any scriptures.

Questioner: When the original isavailable what is the need to use a substitute?

Dadashri: Yes. On the contrary we aredoing damage. Therefore when The Gnani

Purush is around the books are of no use. Thereis no book which will be of any use in front ofthe Gnani. The Gnani Purush’s speech is forthe purpose of improving the scriptures.Otherwise the original writers of these scripturessay, ‘I am saying what the all knowing One(sarvagnya) has said.’ But this will not work.To absorb (dharan) what the all knowing Onehas said once, is difficult. Further to understandit is even more difficult. So how would then thewriter have understood anything?

A man asked me whether one couldcompare the scripture of Manu-smruti with theGnani’s words. I asked him if he knew how toread because Manu-smruti means, ‘Manu’smemory;’ whatever Manu remembered wasgiven in his book. What were the contents ofthe book? Only what Manu remembered. It isto be used as ‘food’ only during a time offamine, when no other food is available, whena Gnani Purush is not around.

Questioner: Here Dada, here you gaveus all the solutions.

Dadashri: When the Gnani Purush isthere, all the scriptures should be corrected.Now someone comes to me and wants me totell the meaning of scriptures! What can bedone! If one tells me, ‘explain this,’ I will saythat this is a mistake on your part. Thescriptures have been written by the experts onscriptures and here The Gnani Purush is aboveall writers of scriptures. The Gnani Purush islower than a tirthankara (the fully enlightenedOne) but above the writers of the scriptures.

So there is a possibility of making anerror in this. Even then it is very helpful forother people. The reason is that all those arescholars. When the direct light of the Sun isavailable, what is the need to light a candle?When there is no direct sunlight, the candle isnecessary.

Questioner: Dada, today this speech ofYours has the energy to eradicate any insistenceof any one of us who is stuck on any scripture.

Dadashri: What?

Questioner: This is because some ofus have the tendency to repeatedly go back toreferring the scriptures.

Dadashri: Yes. That is why I had to tellyou all this. When? When I know that this isgoing on (dependence on scriptures in thepresence of the Gnani). Otherwise to insult thescripture is a fault. To insult a book is to insultthe knowledge of the scripture (shruta gnan)and it is a fault. At a certain critical time, if Ido not commit this fault then you would havegone a long time on the wrong path.

That is why I have said that it is notnecessary to read a single sentence ofscriptures. However, if you are habituated to it,read it. Where is the need to read anythingafter meeting the Gnani Purush? All thescriptures, all the Vedas and all the Upanishads,all are encompassed in these five Agnas. Isthis talk understandable?

Questioner: Yes all is contained withinthe five Agnas.

Dadashri: Otherwise, would I tell younot to read? Such beautiful words, andmagnificent sentences, and speech! But whydo you need to bother with it? All that has beendeeply discussed and the end has been attained.If you have sucked of all the juice, what is left?If you drunk it what is left?

Great munis like Kapil and others werevery pure. I have read the scriptures. Kapilmuni has clearly written, ‘I am saying what theall knowing One has said.’ And then he becamefree from any responsibility. ‘I am merelybringing the message.’ He was a very elevatedsoul, yet he does not take any responsibility.

Errors in this path, is a sure way to end up inhell. These words are not to be teased or messedwith.

Even I remain silent. What can be done?If you take wrong path after meeting me, I donot like it. I prefer to remain silent in thesecritical matters. Even I have to do pratikramanvidhi for 15 minutes for assaulting scriptures.The attacks done, call for the vidhi ofpratikraman. I commit the fault to save youfrom going on the wrong path.

The pure speech without any contamination

Do you understand this discussion? I donot insist that what I say is correct. If you findit to be so, then accept it. I do not intend tomake every discussion correct. If it suits you,then you should accept it and if you do not, itwill not bother me. In any event, I have to tellthe truth. Otherwise, people have just allowedall misrepresentations to continue.

Questioner: But that is their viewpoint,is it not?

Dadashri: Yes, that is true, but I mustdisclose this truth because there are people outthere who are trying to conceal it. And nobodyhas the courage to speak this truth out loud. Doyou now know that all this is wrong?

Questioner: Yes, Dada.

Dadashri: You should have knowledgeof what is untrue. One man said to me, ‘I cannow tell if something is untrue.’ That is whatI wanted. Otherwise, uncertainty and doubtswill remain; one may feel, ‘There is some truthhere and some truth there.’ As long as thishappens, you will not get the full taste of eitherone. Through your gnan (knowledge), youshould be able to tell if something is untrue,then everything will work out fine.

It is like this: if no one says anything,

people will carry on as is. A Gnani Purush,like me, states the facts clearly; I can speakfrankly and I can say things exactly as theyare.

Aptavani : The speech that works fromwithin

Questioner: When we read yourAptavani, it is so effective, it brings such goodresults that we feel like reading it continuously.

Dadashri: These words are of the GnaniPurush and they are fresh. The phases—of thespeech—are recent and therefore during thereading as you read it your phases change andyou experience anand bliss. Someone may evenbecome enlightened samkit just through thereading! This is because this speech is thespeech of the vitarag. There is no solution formoksha without speech that is vitarag—withoutattachment or abhorrence.

The speech of the Lord was vitaragwithout attachment and abhorrence and itseffect is still going on, even after 2500 years.Therefore, even the speech of the Gnani Purushis effective; it will be for at least two to fourgenerations for sure.

Questioner: We see Dada while readingAptavani!

Dadashri: Yes…. ‘You will see Dada’.You will see Dada exactly. It is possible to seeDada whenever you desire and this results inYour benefit.

Questioner: I have read all parts of theAptavani, nowhere did I see anyone’s criticismor refutation in the entire book.

Dadashri: Self-realized beings do notoppose anyone. They do not begin or destroyanything. Why create and destroy? Why wouldI oppose anything? To oppose is an ego of akind; it is a mad ego.

True religion is one where there is nodisagreement and poisonous effects. Truereligion has amrut the nectar of the eternal.Dispute or disagreement is poison.

This Aptavani for the purpose of JagatKalyan

This speech will continue to be helpfulfor eighteen thousand years, as long as the reignof Lord Mahavir lasts, it will be there.

The thousands of copies of Aptavanisthat have been published will grow and blossomin the next fifty to one hundred years. At thattime India will be a place of grandeur andprosperity. The words in these books will leadto something majestic and magnificent. Aspeople become familiar with these books, theywill come to understand how priceless theyare.

Questioner: There are a lot of peoplewho have inner experiences while reading theAptavani—the speech of the One who iseternally trusted. Are those experiences becauseof the presence of the Gnani Purush? And arepeople going to have the same experiences afterYou have departed?

Dadashri: The experiences will happeneven after I am gone, for sure. The gnan—knowledge, which is already out there, is merelyjust that; it is Kramic knowledge. There is nochetan—life in the Kramic knowledge, whereasthis Gnan is a science (vignan) and it is aliveand that is why there is experience in it. Whenone reads these books he can ‘see’ Dada, hecan hear Dada speaking and then he experiencesthe Gnan.

Questioner: Even those who have nottaken this Gnan have the experience afterreading the Aptavani.

Dadashri: Yes, even then they will havethe experience. The other is the knowledge of

the Kramic path. It is not a science and that iswhy they do not get the experience. Thatknowledge would have to be ‘done’ – in theKramic path one has to ‘do’ everything whereasin this Akram path one only has to understand.If a person understands the book, he will attainthe experience.

These are the words of the Gnani Purush,it is the energy of his speech and his intentionsbehind his speech that works. Also hiscompassion behind his words gives results.Behind these words is my compassion! Whatcompassion! There is nothing to give or takethere. I do not want any respect. I do not wantany emotional gratification. I do not wantanything worldly from you. So then what is theintention? It is purely from the intent ofcompassion.

Questioner: Compassion would bewithout any effort, would it not?

Dadashri: Yes, effortless. That is why itwill become very beneficial to him.

A lot has come out in the open about thenature of this world, let all the facts come out.For once let as much speech come out, as itwill; let it completely come out. People willcontinue to ask questions and the speech willcontinue to come out. Do you understand?Everything that comes out everyday will bepublished one day. People will then analyze itand extract and establish the Gnan—total eternalliberating knowledge within.

Questioner: When I read Dada’sAptavani, I feel very much at peace and amable to stay in my Gnan but after I leave thebook aside, once again everything becomesclouded.

Dadashri: The words in the Aptavaniare just sthool physical words. You feel peacewhen you read them. The book however, is

telling you that the words within are not meantto give you permanent peace. Whatever youread in the Aptavani, realize and understand itsmeaning and make your way to the mainPurush, the Gnani. Ask the Gnani whateveryou want. I am ready to give anyone whateverhe or she wants in this world.

This is the talk of the ultimate science

Questioner: This is very beautiful talk.The speech that comes forth from you, it seemsas if it is the talk of the ultimate science ofkeeping the separation (between the self andthe non-Self).

Dadashri: Yes, it is the ultimate science.

Questioner: The location of ego—ahamkar (‘I am Chandulal’ egoism ‘I am thedoer’), its origin, how to create separation, whatis the role of pragnya—the direct light of theSelf, and now in addition to this Dada keepsgiving more clarification.

Dadashri: Have you understood?

Questioner: Yes Dada, you are givingvery clear clarification. Dada, if we do notunderstand now then nobody is as stupid as usin the world.

Dadashri: No. Later on you will not findthis at all! If this gem is lost in such a big oceanthen you will not find it again.

These words are the very same, but thisis the ultimate talk! This systematic method isnot possible to contain in only one sentence.And I am telling you exactly the way I haveunderstood. I am talking to you from my visionsitting at ease. And I am telling you tounderstand that. I am telling you that which Ihave seen. He understands these points well,but a lot more remains to be understood within,a lot remains.
