This week we would like you to read the next few chapters, summarising the key points, ready for our writing next week.

Who are the main characters?
What is some important information we need to know about the characters?
What important events have happened so far in the story?
How are the main characters feeling?
Use the questions as subheadings and answer them underneath.
You can choose to write in full sentences or use bullet points.
You do not need to write paragraphs and paragraphs for
each question, just the most important information.

Today you are going to start reading the next part of the book. After each chapter write a few of sentences or bullet points to summarise what has happened in that chapter. Write one sentence about Tom Canty, one about Prince Edward and if you need to you could write another sentence about any extra information.
In your Home Learning exercise book write todays date and the WALT at the top of this slide.
Remember the school presentation expectations. The date should be on the right hand side, with the WALT on the left next to the margin, underlined with a straight line.

Use subheadings to show which chapter the bullet points or
sentences are about.
Remember you do not need to write down every detail about the
chapter, just the key, most important points.
Even though we are splitting the chapters over a few days you do
not need to start a new page each day, just continue on from the
previous day.

Today you are going to predict what you think will happen next in the story, but you won’t find out how it really ends for another couple of weeks!
Think about what has happened in the book so far, including the chapters you have read this week, and make a prediction about how the story will end.
What will happen to Tom Canty and Prince Edward?Will they go back to their normal lives?Will they continue to live each others lives?
You are making a prediction, so think carefully about what could happen using what you have already read in the story.
