CD Players, iPods & MP3 players Although we strongly advise that students not bring such devices, they may be permitted to carry CD players, iPods and MP3 players if they are turned off and kept in students’ backpacks or purses, out of sight. These items may only be used during free time in the residence halls and not during class, mealtimes, recreation or while walking to activities. If the CD players, iPods or MP3 players are not in a backpack or purse or they are in plain view, they will be taken and returned at the end of the leadership program. Any major electronic games (Portable Game Systems, laptops, netbooks, PDAs, Tablet, Phablets, Smart Phones, etc.) will be taken and kept until the end of the leadership program. Bringing these items is strongly discouraged. I understand that if my child carries a cell phone to UNM activities and events, it needs to be OFF, not just on silent or vibrate and it needs to be kept in a backpack, bag, purse or pocket. I also understand that if they make calls from a cell phone or use electronics other than specified in the policy above, they may have those devices confiscated and they will not be returned until the end of the leadership program. UNM and the Hispanic Youth Research & Leadership Program at UNM are not responsible for replacement of lost or stolen items. Parent Name & Signature Date Student Name & Signature Date
