Health South-East has awarded strategic innovation funds to Akershus
University Hospital (Ahus), by the Division Director Ivar Thor Jonsson
for the project “Development of a semantic IT solution and ontology for
clinical use in health care”. The project has been awarded 2MNOK and
is defined as a strategic innovation project.
In collaboration with the company DNV GL and the University of Oslo a
pilot study in the surgical division, tied back to the EU funded research
project Optique, was performed last winter. This pilot study focused on
gathering information to “operational messages” at the Day-surgery
Center and was, according to Jonsson, very successful.

How we can:
1: Do advanced search queries across of different data sources.
2: Help to fill surgery message form.
3: Quality check of self- certification
4: Help to search the documents. Reduce document amount.
5: Doing Synonym search text (advanced text-mining).Very successful look http://optique-project.eu/optique-in-heathcare-is-growing/

Objectives in Sprint 1
Human touch and empathy – with professional skill
UiO HSØ
Demonstrate how, by applying semantic technology, the time to collect and
integrate information from the Surgery Message Form can be reduced.
Focus: The Anesthesia and Gastro-surgery units at Ahus.
Basis: The existing Surgery Message Form and data available in Electronic
Patient Record (DIPS) and Intensive Care Software (Metavision).
Time: 8 weeks
This project requires clarification of roles, role responsibilities, and that we dare to think new thoughts and ideas.
