Core Astrological Configuration for 2014 = The Grand CrossKey planets = Uranus, Pluto, Mars and Jupiter

A Grand Cross = a planetary configuration where 4 or more planets form the shape of a cross. Because of the nature of this shape and because the planets involved in this case are at what is considered the ‘critical degree’ of 13’ for cardinal signs in traditional astrology, there is a lot of pressure from these energies to take action. During peak times we are likely to experience a degree of internal and external agitation on an individual and collective level.

The Ending of 2013: Dec 21st: Venus Ret. until Jan 31st 2014Dec 25th : Mars opposite UranusDec 27th : Mars quincunx ChironDec 30th : Mars square Pluto Core Theme: The issue of Justice and fairness comes to the forefront on an individual and collective level. This is a very active time! Best to avoid potential conflicts and keep centered.

The Start of 2014:Jan 1st 2014: The New Moon at 10 Capricorn ‘57 joins the Grand Cross together with Mercury, illuminating our need to focus on communication that is based on authenticity and meaning.

Winter 2014

Mars which moved into Libra for 8 months on Dec 7th 2013, continues to play an active role in the Cardinal Grand Cross formation in the sky with Jupiter in Cancer. This will continue until June 2014. Mars in Libra invites us to use our mental capacities to observe and take calculated action rather than react, so that we can balance carefully where our actions might be most effective. One of the arenas where imbalance needs to be addressed and reassessed in 2014 is relationships, so that we can change areas of inequality leading to increased mutuality.

Summer 2014:

Jupiter will move from watery Cancer to fiery Leo from July 2014 to August 2015. The energies for this naturally expansive planet will shift from highlighting patterns of self-nurturing, connected to dynamics within our family/community of origin, to an invitation to develop an expansive joyful authentic soulful self, emanating from an open heart.

The last few months of 2014:

In the last three months of the year, Jupiter will square Saturn in Scorpio. These two planets are regular dance companions and the current square will invite us to find joy and meaning in our existence through unearthing and integrating our shadow, as well as our light. In reality they are one and the same as there is only light, with darkness being an illusion based in fear
