The purpose of this study is to describe an improving plan for Hotel Management and Tourism students focusing on listening, reading, speaking, writing, grammar, and vocabulary using updating technology.
Through the use of technology, students should be encouraged to be creative, motivated and actively participate in things related to hotel management and ecotourism.
Goals and Objectives
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
At the end of the course students will be able to:
Describe Ecuadorian ecotourism and apply knowledge of how to use different ways to integrate authentic listening, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary skills using the latest technology in the EFL classroom.
Topic: Introduction to Ecuadorian ecotourism. Grade level: Teenagers Ss ESOL classification level: Intermediate.
Methodology: Cognitive Academic Language Learning and Language Experience Approach
Strategies: Videos, demonstrations, pairs, observation, evaluation, tweeter, and wikis.
Objectives Anticipatory set Main Teaching Input Modeling Guided practice Independent practice Assessment Closing
Students will use the audio editor audacity program in their own computers, practice, and give their own opinion about Ecuadorian Yasuni ITT initiative recording it.
LISTENING
READING
Students will select articles related with Ecuadorian ecotourism and hotel management using google web pages.
SPEAKING
Real communicative situation is necessary
WRITING
Tribal children in Ecuador
Ecuadorian Ecotourism wiki
Students are going to write on wikispaces some advice to people who would like to visit Ecuador. For example: What do they think visitors might like to see and do? Should they go to one park or some national parks? What do they think about Yasuni ITT initiative?
GRAMMAR
Students are going to study semantic categories for singular proper names and plural or collective geographical names using google web pages.
VOCABULARY
Students are going to practice using word circles and word maps related with vocabulary knowledge. The students are going to work on aspects of ecotourism that they know.
