Body Control Pilates Headlines

With almost 1,500 members, the Body Control Pilates Association is the only membership body and community of its kind in the world.

With the growth in our international teacher training, we expect 1 in 4 members to be based outside the UK by 2019.

Members are teaching in 43 countries around the world.

We continue to strive to represent the best interests of our members in the UK and the EU with regard to industry developments and potential new teaching standards.

BCPA membership is only open to teachers who have gained a matwork certification with Body Control Pilates.

It is Europe’s largest and most recognised Pilates organisation.

What’s new this year?

2-Year CPD Window You will now have two years in which to accrue your points (180 over two years) giving you more flexibility and control over your planning and the ability to ‘take some CPD time out’ if needed. We’ll ask for a CPD ‘Progress Report’ when you renew in March 2018 and we do recommend you continue to plan your CPD on a regular basis

The Mitsi Pippa Fund We will be offering a limited number of bursaries each year to members who have genuine financial difficulties and who therefore may need some assistance to be able to attend courses and continue their professional development. Applications will be in complete confidence with details of the scheme being published in early 2017. This scheme will be named after Mitsi Pippa who passed away in late 2015. Mitsi had a huge influence on the development of Body Control Pilates and an unrivalled passion for sharing knowledge.

Improved Benefits Package Your BCPA membership now gives you discounts and benefits with a range of companies and organisations – see the insert in your Renewal Pack. We’ll be adding more partners as the year goes on and will keep you informed!

Membership Card You now receive a BCPA membership card to confirm that you are a current member.

New Website We will be launching a completely new website in Spring 2017 – as comprehensive as ever, but much easier to navigate and optimised for viewing on smartphones and tablets – and for search engine results. It will come with a brand new Members Area with easy access to everything you need from

booking courses online; checking availability; buying discounted

products; updating your contact details and

much more.

Improved Search Facility The Register of Body Control Pilates Teachers will continue to be one of the focuses for our PR activity in 2017. The new website will offer a much improved search facility with a ‘search by qualification’ function to allow members of the public to find their nearest Back4Good® Practitioner, Bone Health specialist, Level 4 Pilates Teacher and more.

Online Education After the success of our online tutorials for Level 4 Pilates, we are assessing the gradual introduction of online access via streaming to selected courses, workshops and tutorials. This will be a major benefit for our members both in the UK and internationally.

New Website Starter Package Once the new website is up and running, we’re relaunching this popular package designed to get you on the web with an attractive informative website at the lowest possible cost with the lowest possible hassle. Details to follow.

New Courses, New Workshops, New Presenters Our education programme continues to expand with courses on hypermobility, equestrians and MOTR core fitness rollers amongst those planned to launch in 2017. Some great new workshops are being developed and exciting partnerships explored and you’ll see some new faces presenting in 2017, including Tom McCook from the USA. A busy year ahead! As always, the Development Weekend and many courses and workshops will be exclusively for BCPA members.
