26, 2010 and will be completed in early

2015. Over the next two years, three design

-build teams will be awarded contracts to

finalize design and construction of the

SEPTEMBER 30TH-OCTOBER 31ST, FRI, SAT

Descend into the darkness at the basement of the historic 107 year old Union Savings Bank Building and be spooked by the dé-

cor, sounds, and actors. In 2005, new areas of the building were discovered, with 36 bodily remains found in various parts of the

basement, and in catacombs, which is now part of the location for the annual Old Town Halloween Haunt.

$15 general admission. $17 admission Oct 28-31. Not recommended for children under the age of 12.

OLD TOWN HAUNT. 20 N. RAYMOND AVENUE, PASADENA

METRO GOLD LINE EXTENSION MAKES HEADWAY

Rendering of the 210 Light Rail Bridge

Foreclosure activity fell 29 percent in the first six months of this year com-

pared with the first six months of 2010. A total of 1.17 million properties na-

tionwide received foreclosure filings, including default notices, auction sale

notices, or bank repossessions in the first half of this year, down 29 percent

from the first half of 2010 and 25 percent from the second half.

Foreclosure activity fell year-over-year for the ninth straight month in June. For

the second quarter as a whole, filings fell nearly 11 percent compared to the

first quarter and 32 percent compared to the second quarter of 2010, to a

total of 608,235 properties. That's the lowest quarterly total since fourth-

quarter 2007.

The current

slowdown in

foreclosure ac-

tivity is due in

part to the fact

that banks are

much more co-

operative with

short selling

homeowners

properties then

they have been

in the past.
