THE REASON FOR OUR HOPE
“What is the reason for your hope?” Imagine somebody coming up to you and asking you that question. Not “What are you hoping for?” or “What are you hoping to do?” No, this isn’t about our desires for possessions or aspirations for life, it’s “Why do you hope?” Peter today tells us that we ought to be ready to give an answer to this question. Truth be told, few of us spend much time thinking about why we hope. Luckily, the scriptures today give us our answers. We hope because Christ suffered for us, in order that we might come to God. We hope because we know that, in the Spirit, God grants us another Advocate through Christ to remain with us always. No matter what we might hope for, whatever we might hope to do, we must always first know and proclaim the reason for our hope: the presence of God in Christ, with us through the power of the Spirit.
RAZÓN DE NUESTRA ESPERANZA
“¿Cuál es la razón de tu esperanza?”. Imagina que alguien se te acerca y te hace esa pregunta. No “¿qué es lo que esperas?” o ¿qué esperas hacer?”. No; no se trata de los deseos de poseer cosas o de aspiraciones en la vida, sino “¿por qué tienes esperanza?”. Hoy Pedro nos dice que debemos estar dispuestos a responder esta pregunta. A decir verdad, pocos son los que se dedican a pensar por qué tenemos esperanza. Por suerte, las Escrituras de hoy nos ofrecen la respuesta. Esperamos porque Cristo sufrió por nosotros, a fin de que podamos venir a Dios. Esperamos porque sabemos que, en el Espíritu, Dios nos concede otro Defensor en Cristo que permanecerá con nosotros por siempre. Sin importar lo que podamos esperar, o lo que esperamos poder hacer, siempre debemos saber y proclamar la razón de nuestra esperanza: la presencia de Dios en Cristo con nosotros por el poder del Espíritu.

By now, many of you have heard of some parishes reopening and other in process. Archbishop has granted permission for parishes to begin the reopening process with the implementation of certain safety guidelines and according to the discretion of each pastor depending on their possibilities/circumstances.
Our parish staff has begun the brainstorming and drafting of our parish reopening plan to gradually open our church buildings for Mass. While we come to determine the reopening date, we ask for your prayers and patience.
For now, St. Alexander parish:
Will continue to upload our recorded Mass services at the regular times we have been posting; Weekdays, 8am & 6pm | Weekends, 9am & 11am
currently not taking sign up’s for Mass attendance. We will continue to update you on our status/progress.

We will have one to two families signed up per week. Flowers are to be brought to the parish office on Thursday’s (during office hours).

MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY
Monday, May 25, 2020 Although we are currently closed to the public, our staff has been working remotely and our secretaries working in the office answering phone calls, emails and other tasks. On this day, our staff will be off and therefore not answering calls or emails. You may leave a message and we will get back to you as we resume on Tuesday.

Por favor pida por estos miembros de nuestra comunidad: A la fecha de hoy, muchos de ustedes han oído hablar de la reapertura de algunas
parroquias y otras en proceso. El Arzobispo ha otorgado permiso para que las parroquias comiencen el proceso de reapertura con la implementación de ciertas pautas de seguridad y de acuerdo con la discreción de cada párroco dependiendo de sus posibilidades y circunstancias.
Nuestro personal parroquial ha comenzado la lluvia de ideas y la redacción de nuestro plan de reapertura de la parroquia para abrir gradualmente la iglesia para las misas. Mientras llegamos a determinar la fecha de reapertura, le pedimos sus oraciones y paciencia.
Por ahora, la parroquia de San Alejandro:
Continuaremos subiendo nuestras misas grabados en los horarios regulares que hemos estado publicando; Entre semana, 8am y 6pm | Fines de semana, 9 a.m. y 11 a.m.

Tendremos una o dos familias inscritas por semana. Las flores deben ser traídas a la oficina de la parroquia los jueves (durante el horario de oficina).
