A POWERFUL ALLIANCE

A MEMBER-BASED ORGANIZATION

The Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation (GBEDC) was ocially organized in 2005 as a result of the merger of the Beloit Economic Development Advisory Council and the Beloit Economic Development Corporation.

This alliance of non-profit organizations focuses oncompetitive and prosperous growth throughout the region. The GBEDC works with companies that areinterested in investing in the community and retaining or creating new jobs, and encourages existing companies to expand while attracting new businesses.

The GBEDC provides value-added services tailored to meet the needs of members and the community, including financial assistance, such as the revolving loan program and local multi-bank loan pool.

GBEDC members are the region’s largest stakeholders and strongest community-minded businesses that strive to foster growth in the Great Beloit area. As a public/private partnership, the GBEDC’s general membership is comprised of local governments, small and large employers, professional service and retail businesses, community organizations, and private individuals in the Greater Beloit area.

“The partnership between GBEDC and the local city administrations has made for a very successful model by combining both the power of the city governments and all they have to oer a prospective business along with the local business community expertise. The creative business entrepreneur then works in concert to make attractive opportunities that end up with businesses choosing the stateline area as their gateway to the Midwest. Truly a marriage that has worked and continues to work, the fruits of this joint labor are present all over the stateline, as employment and business steadily thrive. ”
