Threatened Luther with EXCOMMUNICATION (kick out) unless he RECANT (take back) his statements
Luther threw decree in a bonfire & Pope excommunicated Luther Edict of Worms (outlaw & heretic)
Holy Roman Emperor (Charles V) was ANGRY & sent him to Town of Worms for trial
