(Sample ROAD entry)

Date: 23 February 2020Title: The Road into God s̒ Word

MATTHEW 13 - 18: (felt led to focus on Matthew 13:18-23)READ

It is the same message of the kingdom, yet there are four different results for those who hear the Word. To produce a good crop, the hearer must:• Understand the Word or it will be snatched away (13:19)• Have deep roots so that he can withstand trouble or persecution (13:21)• Not allow worries or wealth to make the Word unfruitful (13:22)• Receive the Word (13:20, 22, 23)

OBSERVE

• Seek to understand the Word whenever I hear it. This implies effort to study the Word.• Act on the Word so that the Word can take root in my heart.• Memorise the Word so that when trouble comes, I can lean on the promises of God s̒ Word.• Do not allow worries or wealth to distract me from receiving the Word; give priority to hear and understand the Word.• Have an open heart and mind to hear the Word.

APPLY

• Make it a top priority to read God s̒ Word every morning.• Memorise: Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

PRAYLord, help me to read Your Word first thing in the morning. Give me the strength to resist any distractions from this priority in my life. Give me an open heart to hear what You want to say to me. Then give me grace to do what You tell me. Help me to carry Your Word in my heart throughout the day. I ask all this in Jesusʻ name. Amen.

READ

OBSERVE
