This is a great out reach program for our surrounding neighborhood. Three
schools have been invited. A lady has e-mailed the Church inquiring about
pizza with Santa. She is bringing her children because she received a invita-
tion. She is very excited. Let us show as much excitement by coming and sup-
porting our pizza with Santa out reach. Please invite your children,
grandchildren and friends. Volunteers are always welcome to help serve and
help with the children. If you can help please see Johnathan or Nia Johnson.

The Resurrection of Jesus – Part 7 A third answer to the empty tomb was that the disci-ples had simply gone to the wrong tomb and the tomb that was empty was not the tomb where Jesus had been bur-ied. Something of that nature might be easy enough to happen especially when you are deeply grieved as these disciples were. First we need to ask the question “Is it likely that Peter and John would have made the same mistake?” And what about Joseph? It was his tomb that Jesus was buried in. Surely Joseph could have gone to the right tomb. Also how do you account for the burial clothes in the tomb? When Peter and John went to the tomb, John who was the first to arrive and he recorded what he and Peter saw. “And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, 7 and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself” (Jn. 20:5-7).This is evidence that they had not gone to the wrong tomb. But if that was what happened, why did the enemies not go to the right tomb and say, “Look the body of Jesus is still here. He has not risen.” They never did that be-cause they knew that the disciples had gone to the correct tomb. The fourth explanation offered by unbelievers is known as the “Swoon Theory.” The claim has been made that Jesus was not really dead but he had merely lost con-sciousness and in the coolness of the tomb He revived. But all of the evidence shows that Jesus was indeed dead! The soldiers in charge of the crucifixion conclude that Jesus was dead (Jn. 19:33), and Pilate was also con-vinced that Jesus was dead (Mk. 15:44, 45).Physiologists agree that the condition of such vital organs, including the heart preclude any mere swooning on the cross. It proves conclusively that Jesus was dead! The swoon theory is as hard for us to believe as the resurrection is for skeptics. They believe that Jesus hung on the cross for 6 hours after having been scourged (also called the “Roman half death”); He was pierced by a spear so that His heart is evidently ruptured (the outpour-ing of blood and water together). Taken down from the cross and buried, He is revived by the cool air of the tomb. He gets up, removes the burial clothing that normally would require the help of others (Jn. 11:44), rolls away the stone that would normally require several men to so that, overcomes the Roman soldiers guarding the tomb, walks 55 miles on nailed pierced feet to Galilee where He convinces the disciples that He has conquered death! There is one other possibility to explain the empty tomb. “This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses” (Acts 2:32).
