Peacekeeping is an activity of public interest.

Mediation is a public interest activity. Mediation is a culture

of dialogue.

The three processes are activities of public interest,

whose purpose is to serve the citizen, economic and

social prosperity and development of healthy

interpersonal relationships.The role of business is to ensure prosperity and social and

economic welfare.

What is the mediator's role

in society?The mediator does not have and can not have an

obligation of result, but only the prudence and diligence

obligation. Conflict resolution depends exclusively on the

agreement of the parties, the main task of mediator is to

make all efforts he is capable and use all his skills in

order to assist the parties to reach an agreement.

What is the mediator's role

in pacekeeping?The mediator's role is well defined in the United Nations

Charter, according to which: "The Parties, in case of

disputes whose extension is likely to endanger the

maintenance of international peace and security must

seek to solve, first of all, by negotiation, investigation,

mediation, conciliation, arbitration, judicial settlement,

recourse to organizations or regional agreements or other

peaceful means of their own choice.

When the costs of conflict rise to a level that can be easily

interpreted as alarming any businessman’s choice should

be mediation. Mediation has a very important role in

preventing insolvency and bankruptcy, but the most

important when talking about business is that mediation

helps the parties to restore and fortify their partnerships.

Romania is a strategic partner of the OSCE regarding the efforts to

prevent and resolve conflicts through mediation and exploring

concrete ways to strengthen the mediation efforts. Given the new

challenges that our country is going through from the geostrategic

point of view and the fact that a peaceful resolution of conflicts in

the OSCE area is a high priority, Romania must step up efforts to

reinforce mediation as essential tool in the process of conflict

transformation, and last but not least the women involvement in

decision-making processes for maintaining safety and peace in the

region.
