The greatest Easter gift you can give is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. If you wish to remember your loved ones, living and de-ceased, at our multiple intention Easter Masses, please turn your Mass intention and stipend into your respective Parish Office by Thursday, April 2. In the bulletin on Easter weekend there will be a listing of all the intentions.
Easter Flowers If you would like to remember your loved ones with Easter flowers in their memory, please send your loved ones’ name and a $10 donation in an envelope marked “Easter Flowers” to the Parish Office or drop in collection basket by Thursday, April 2. Your contribution will help defray the cost of the Easter flow-ers. In the bulletin on Easter weekend there will be a list-
ing of all those remembered.
Multiple Intentions
Marriage Moments
A contract is an agreement based on distrust. A
covenant is a commitment based on trust. That's
why the scriptures continually refer to God's cove-
nant with humanity. Our Church refers to mar-
riage as a covenant between the two spouses and
God. It goes beyond a legal contract.
Parenting Pointers
Friday the 13th is this week. Have fun with your chil-
dren by joking about frivolous unlucky things that have
happened in your life. Then turn it around and talk
about times when you were really lucky.
First Communion
Workshop
St. Augustine and Holy Name of
Mary First Communion Workshop
for ALL Communicants and their
Parents will be held on Friday,
March 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00
p.m. in the St. Augustine Parish
Center. The students will practice
receiving communion, making bread & a banner, and
participate in other sacramental activities. This will
be a great evening for building memories for this
most sacred sacrament which they are preparing to
celebrate.
Catechist
Certification
Offered
We are offering two Cate-chist classes in March which will apply in the Advanced or Masters Lev-el of Certification under the area of Catechetics. The requirement for Reli-gion Teachers Catechetics is a minimum of 25 hours.
These two classes will give you 5 hours in this area. If you need these 5 hours, they will help you in your religion class. They are “Hands-on” classes with ac-tivities you can take with you.
Here are the dates of Catechist Classes that are be-ing offered in St. Augustine Parish Hall:
Monday, March 9, 6:00-8:30 pm. “How to Teach the Mass to Children” presented by Annette Bergamini. You may have seen some of these ideas but you will surely learn some new ones! Annette is a former Catholic School teacher and is presently the Pasto-ral Associate at St. Martha’s in Louisville. She gave a retreat to our staff this past fall. This will be a fun and easy session. Come and take away ideas for your class.
Monday, March 23, 6:00-8:30 pm. “Praying with Children” presented by Kathy Shannon, former Catholic School teacher and current Pastoral Associ-ate of St. Augustine and Holy Name of Mary. You know how to pray and you can pray with children but would you like some new ideas and some easy ways to involve students in prayer? Hands-on ideas will be used to experience what you can give your students. Come and pray in various ways that chil-dren will enjoy.
You need to register by calling or emailing Kathy Shannon at 270-692-9009 Ex. 4, [email protected] by March 5 for the first class or March 19 for the second class. No cost.
If you have any questions, please call Kathy at 270-692-9009, Ex 4.

St. Augustine School
Where the Spirit Thrives!
Hello Parents and Friends of St. Augustine School,
We have been blessed with such a nice February and Spring is quickly ap-
proaching. It is a treat each morning as our students enter our building ea-
ger to learn with those little smiles. They are truly a blessing from GOD
and help me appreciate the gift of life.
We have completed our second round of MAP testing and I feel our stu-
dents and staff are more comfortable with this new assessment. It is ena-
bling our teachers to see
the strengths and weak-
nesses in student perfor-
mance which can better
drive specific instructional
practices in our classrooms.
Please note the picture of
our fifth graders. They are
small in number but big in
heart and academic perfor-
mance!
Peace to all,
Mr. Terrell
