This term the students & staff of TRRS celebrated the im-portance of good nutrition, reg-ular exercise and adequate rest in maintaining a healthy life-style. During morning assem-bly, PSHE classes and circle time our students were encour-aged to eschew fatty and sugary foods, in exchange for more fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains. They were challenged to go to bed early and to turn of the telly & videogames in favour of physi-cal activity and sports! Well done to all of our pupils!

Lower Six students led our celebra-tions on 23 May 2014, beginning the day with a special Whole School Assembly. As part of the celebrations, Middle & Senior School classes had each been as-signed an African country to repre-sent and prepared an exhibition to showcase the rich cultural heritage of their country. In the afternoon, students and staff gathered on the Middle School Forecourt to visit the stands and enjoy various cultural performances. It was difficult for our panel of judges to choose a winner, but at the end of it all Class 6 East won for their presen-tation of Mauritius. Thank you to Azmera Restaurant and Ms. Asante (TRRS Parent) for sponsoring a wonderful class party for the win-ners!

At the end of July 2014, members of our Boys Football Team travelled to Oslo to participate in the International

Norway Cup 2014. We were simply thrilled with the performance of our players, they stood up to the task and

played their hearts out! Our boys gave their opponents a run for their money in each game, playing 4 exciting

matches only to be eliminated from the medal zone in penalty kicks! It was a wonderful experience for all and we

are ready to begin preparations for next year’s tournament! Congrats to all players and many thanks to Mr. Yaw

Danso (Head of PE) & Mr. Ellis Brown (PE Department) and Mrs. Ekuba Quayenortey (dots Marketing, TRRS Par-

ent) for organising this amazing trip!

accomplished professionals from a wide

variety of exciting fields, who graciously

volunteered their time to participate in our

Career Fair. Students had the opportunity

to meet with facilitators in small groups

and learn more about the intricacies of

each career, in addition to receiving pre-

cious life advice about everything from time

management to the importance of good in-

On Saturday 3 May 2014 TRRS students, parents & staff joined hands with members of the wider community to support Nicole’s Helpline, a chari-table foundation established in the memory of Nicole Lomo-Mainoo (TRRS Class of 2012) who tragically passed away in 2010 from complica-tions due to diabetes. The event was spearheaded by our Lower Six class and they did an amazing job! Setting off from El-Wak stadium, supporters briskly completed a 5km course through the sur-rounding area. Upon our return, we enjoyed a va-riety of healthy snacks, fresh juices, fruits & vege-tables, followed by an informative lecture by Dr. Yeboah (Endocrinologist) and free diabetic screen-ing courtesy of MedLab. Many thanks to all for participating, especially our student, parent & teacher organisers, and to all who donated to this very worthy cause! Your support helped us raise over GH 32,000.00 and we are forever grateful for your generosity! THANK YOU TO OUR EVENT SPONSORS!
