As we also have two other youth awardees this will be a mini youth night. Tonight we are handing over the Friendship Agreement that the Rotaract club signed with the Rotaract Club of Gingoog Bay on our recent visit to the Philippines. This might be a slightly unusual pairing, a University based Rotaract club from Australia’s biggest city to a community based Rotaract club from a small, hard to reach, town just about the furthest away from big Manila in the north. As of now it is but a piece of paper, will our young Rotaractors breathe life into this Friendship Agreement? Let’s hear from Judith and Barakah if they have already formulated some plans.

PDG Paul introduced Anna Perdriau. She has an MBA South Aust. Lives in Newington. She is the author of a new book just released and is talking to us about Glossophobia.Anna's first public speaking experience was at school. She rehearsed her speech for the Voice of Youth competition. She won the event and subsequently competed at state level. This was not as good as she didn't win. She had to speak for work and so practiced to improve and eventually she taught others. All levels of public speaking. Pp Walter shared his first experience. Pps Sana improved when she was Club President. Pres Keith was in his first school play.

Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking. Fear gets in the way. Use the adrenaline rush to become a persuasive speaker. Children learn earlier. Try to make it interactive and conversational with your audience. Audience connection is important. Value, Veritas and Voice. What do I know and what do they know. Veritas is the truth. Bringing out your personality. What is good about me. Voice. Don't be mono tonal. Variety in your presentation. To improve the message use a distinctive voice so the audience doesn’t go to sleep. It's OK to
