Michael Berry’s look at our history

Year: 1989—1990 President: John Berry RI Theme: Enjoy Rotary

It was an enjoyable year! John Berry was born in 1947 and moved with his family into a farm-ing situation on the ‘Lawrenny’ Estate Sol-dier Settlement Hold-ing. The Estate was situated between the towns of Hamilton and Ouse. John’s educa-tion began at the Primary School at Ouse and then at St. Virgil’s College, Hobart. When the family moved to Glenorchy he worked for the Purity Organisation, then in the House Building Industry and then Unilever Prod-ucts. John was to form a partnership about 10 years later in another House Construction business. Married to Kay and being a Berry he has lots and lots of relations. Much more information is in our Golden Anniversary book.
