Message from the President: ItiswithgreatpleasurethatIinviteyoutojoinmeatthe2018HealthMinistriesAssociationConference.Thisyearwillbethefirst“Back-to-Back”conferenceinthe29yearhistoryofHMAannualgatherings,beingheldattheSt.ElizabethTrainingandEducationalCenter(SETEC)inErlanger,KY.IamappreciativeofthetimeandeffortthattheAnnualConferencePlanningCommitteehasdedicatedtoproducingasolidandwell-roundededucationalopportunity.Usingfeedbackfromattendeesatthe2017conference,thegroupdevelopednewandinnovativelearningopportunities,suchastheFridaycommunityimmersionpre-conference.Theannualplanningcommitteehasmadeacommitmenttousetrendsinspiringusinourindividualpracticestodaytocreateaframeworkfortheconference.Iknowyouwillbeinspiredbytheconceptsidentifiedandthespeakerswhowillhelpustobeginveryimportantconversations.

Sheisnationally-recognizedforrecruitingminoritiesandmedicallyunderservedpopulationsanddevelopingculturally-adaptedinterventionsforimplementationbycommunityhealthworkers,primarilyinAfricanAmericanchurches.
