Carrie Mullen and Miss Etta Bus- k sion, the recent guests of Miss Nellie FASHIONS FROM VOGUE Prepared Specially for THE GLOBE The silk shirtwaist this year is one of the most necessary costumes of the wardrobe and a glance in passing the counters at the various sjipps shows a bewildering variety of taffeta, foulards, heavy pongees, messalines, both plain and changeable in weave, and the little French summer silks in the most lovely colorings imaginable. The St. Louis exposition is partially responsible for the increased popularity of this most useful dress, and also for the rage for those made of silk, as the sightseers must not have the additional fatigue of carrying a heavy gown In the many steps they are forced to take. The blue and green pin checks, nut brown with a white hair line quarter or half-inch plaid, and the boue and white and black and white shepherd's check vie with the changeable green and blue messalines in the fashionable world.
