A Fun and Mysterious Dinner Event
Friday, March 21st, 5:00-7:00PM
Tickets deadline is the 14th!
$10 in advance / $12 at the door
Come celebrate spring with a night of mys-
tery and intrigue. Christal has developed a cra-
zy and fun dinner night that is sure to provoke
our curiosity and problem solving skills.
Participants must role play according to a script
and we will have a narrator to keep the plot on
track throughout the evening. Characters will
remain secret until the event. There will be plen-
ty of suspects but in the end only one is guilty!
Dinner will be buffet style with chicken and
plenty of side dishes. We’ll also be selling tickets
for an upcoming raffle of a Mirabeau Park Hotel
Date Night Certificate: room, meal & cham-
pagne valued at $150.
If you’re a big ham and want a showy part, we’ve
got it for you. If you’re more behind the scenes
and don’t like attention, we’ve got that part too.
So, relax and enjoy this really fun time.
Please contact Christal at (509) 327-2861
[email protected] for more info
Deadline: March 14th -- Tickets must be
purchased 1 week in advance to enroll
and receive your part and script
Lunch & Learn
This winter we’re go-
ing to visit local cui-
sine and learn some-
thing new on each trip, great restaurants and
fun tours. In February we visited the Jundt
Art Museum at Gonzaga and the NW Muse-
um of Art & Culture. This month we’ll visit
Orlando’s, St. John’s Cathedral, and the Mi-
zuna Restaurant [Details on pg. 5]

A Message From Your President
Hello Spring and all the newness
that comes with Spring. We have
many new volunteers at Sinto that
are helping out with our functions
coming up in the next few
months. Thanks for your willing-
ness to pitch in! Activities take
lots planning and preparation; we
dream big and the end result is
Sinto is an organization that pro-
vides you with plenty recreational opportunities. Many day
trips and overnight jaunts are planned for many months
ahead. Cal and Christal spend many hours monthly on our
newsletter compiling facts to keep you all informed; be
sure and read it fully. Thanks to the 115 who bought tick-
ets to the 2nd Sinto Tea, a fun afternoon for sure. It made
our volunteers very happy to see your attendance and it
was very rewarding to them for all the hours preparing for
the event. I am excited to be attending my first Mystery
Dinner Event on Friday March 21st, as I know doing new
things is good for my health. I invite you to join me by
getting your tickets before the 14th and finding out what
your murder scenario role will be at the dinner. Don’t wor-
ry, it’s going to be a lot of fun with parts for both outgoing
and shy characters. See you all around Sinto! Wayne

A Time to Talk
by Robert Frost
When a friend calls to me from the road
And slows his horse to a meaning walk,
I don't stand still and look around
On all the hills I haven't hoed,
And shout from where I am, 'What is it?'
No, not as there is a time to talk.
I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,
Blade-end up and five feet tall,
And plod: I go up to the stone wall
For a friendly visit.
Smarter Than Him
by Nick Philips
I locked my brother in a closet
T’see what he would do.
And jus' before I think he lost it,
He thoughta something new:
“Ha-ha!” he said—I thought,
“Oh, dear”—
“You know, I think I got it!
I’m not locked insida here,
I locked you outta the closet!"
“Nuh-uh!” I said; he disagreed,
So I opened the door on a whim
To prove, before he made me bleed,
That I was smarta than him.
The Arrow and the Song
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.
I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?
Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.

Sinto is now an official drop sight for the Lions Club “Eyeglass Recycling Program.” If you have any used pre-scription eyeglasses or hearing aids that you can no longer use, please bring them to Sinto and place them in the drop box. Sinto’s Wish List
Would you consider becoming a partner with Sinto?
Partnerships are what will ensure that Sinto is able to continue to pro-
vide excellent programs for seniors well into the future. Over the years
we’ve received major contributions that have helped secure some of our
recreational programs. The city of Spokane also continues to be a tre-
mendous financial partner. But it isn’t only the large donations that
make the difference; it’s hundreds of people who give a little extra above their membership dues,
support our fundraisers, participate in our activities, and contribute when given the opportunity. It’s
also corporations and senior related organizations that want to help enhance Spokane’s senior com-
munity through Sinto. Can you help?
Senior Activity Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation; all donations are tax deductible.

Legacy Memorial Fund
Sinto has been home to many of life’s
travelers over the past 55 years. We
have a great way to ensure that your
family’s legacy is honored for decades
to come. Each donor will have their

within our Historical Show Case. There
are three levels of Legacy Memorials to
fit any budget. Choose from:
Bronze $50
Silver $150
Gold $300
Please contact our staff or complete
and return the “Individual Donations”

Tummy Tuck Project
Our Tummy Tuck project is a reality
though your donations. We have reno-
vated our downstairs classroom and
library; next step is to fill the walls with
historical memorabilia. Thanks to all
who have contributed toward this re-
model. It’s not too late; donate $50 or
more and you get your name engraved
on a display in the library.
Corporate Sponsorship
We have hundreds of active members and a 1,000 copy
monthly newsletter distribution; Sinto is an excellent place to

This will support our member café and
make Sinto a premier space for com-
mercial rental. This investment will gen-
erate tens of thousands in revenue to
the center over the next few decades.
So far we have received $26,000 in pri-
vate donations and grants, but more will
be needed. Please designate your gift
