You are receiving services from the largest federal aid to education

programs in existence. Title I has been in existence since 1965 and

continue to level the academic playing field for children victimized by

poverty. Title I funds provide supplemental services and educational

programs to help students achieve academically. The Escambia County

School District Title I staff will assist you in meeting the challenges and

requirements of the

No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.

The Title I staff is available to assist in planning and supporting your

program activities. Your commitment to helping children succeed has

surpassed expectations and continues to yield outstanding results.

PROCEDURES & DEADLINES

Property

The District has implemented property management practices in accordance with the applicable Florida Statutes .

There should be a property record at your school of all property with Title I funds which include the following:

Identification Number Location School District Property Tag

If such property becomes dysfunctional or no longer needed, you must contact the Title I District office before discarding or transferring.

Title I funds for 2010-2011 should be used for students that are at your school during this period.

DEADLINES

Purchase Requisitions

greater than $25,000

= Board approval

Please comply with the District’s board agenda deadlines.

Equipment

Computers, SmartBoards, Printers, etc.

Requisitions for these items should be placed no later than October 22nd. ALL equipment orders should

be delivered to your school prior to the Winter Break.

Please comply with this deadline. DO NOT PURCHASE EQUIPMENT AFTER THIS DATE. BUDGET AMENDMENTS FOR THESES PURCHASES WILL NOT BE APPROVED AFTER THIS DEADLINE.

Supplies

Books, etc.

Requisitions for these items should be placed no later than March 18th .

SWEEPING FUNDS“Use It or Lose It”

At the end of 2009-2010 FY, we had schools that lost their Title I funds because they did not use it in a timely manner.

To prevent this from happening in 2010-2011 FY, please be aware of the funds and deadlines that have been put in place. We DO NOT want to take money away from students.
