Newton’s 1st Law says that an object in motion will want to stay in motion and object at rest will want to stay at rest unless acted upon an outside force. Soccer players and the ball are constantly moving and they will continue to move unless an outside force stops it. For example, one football player may run into another and therefore stop. Also, the friction that the grass makes is what slows down the footballball.
