Newark Penn StationPenn Station is a huge bus and train station in Newark, located

between Market Street & Raymond Plaza. From here, you can take the Light Rail, NJ Transit Train or Bus,

Amtrak Train, Path Train, or Greyhound Bus, to just about

anywhere in New Jersey, including Newark airport and lots of cities &

towns. It also provides easy access to New York City.

The station opened in 1935 and continues to be one of the most

used transportation stations in the state. The main waiting room is

famous for is beautiful artwork and architecture.

Symphony Hall

Newark Symphony Hall is New Jersey’s oldest and largest showcase for the arts, education and

entertainment programming. Built in 1925, it has huge columns and the inside is elegant with sculpted marble designs. It was one of the most famous theaters in NJ,

located right on Broad Street. Patti LaBelle, Richard Pryor, Sinbad, Queen Latifah, Gladys Knight, the Temptations, and many, many more artists have

performed here.

Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart

This beautiful church was completed in 1954. Its towers soar 323 feet, and the cathedral covers 45,000

square feet, making it the fifth largest cathedral in North America. Located on Ridge Street near Branch Brook Park, it can be clearly seen when looking at the Newark skyline from afar. The cathedral has beautiful

stained glass windows, high ceilings, and crystal, silver, and bronze chandeliers.
