St. Odilo School Opens Thanks to our expert Principal, Mr. Bill Donegan, and our dedicated faculty and staff, our parish school will open for live, in-person education this coming Monday, August 17. Our school leaders have been working all summer to apply the health and safety protocols to the campus so that our teachers, students, parents and staff can continue our tradition of excellence in Catholic education despite the challenges of the current situation. Please be aware that traffic patterns around the school during the morning arrival and after-noon dismissal will be different. Due to the new procedures for coming and going to school, parents will be dropping their children off in the morning from around 7:50-8:10. After school, parents will be picking their children up from around 2:55 p.m.-3:10 p.m. Everyone will be getting used to new arrival and dismissal patterns, especially the first couple of weeks, so please be extra alert if you happen to be in the area during those times. Those of you who attend daily Mass will recall that the students attend Mass every day at 8:10 a.m. Beginning Tuesday, August 18, the 8:00 Mass on Monday through Friday w ill begin at 8:10, 10 minutes later than in the summer. The Saturday morning Mass will still commence at the usual time, 8:00. Please leave the two sections of pews in the center of the church for the school children and use the side sections of pews for your seating. The COVID protocols are still in place as we begin the school year, so please observe the distancing, masking and hand sanitizing pro-cedures as we have been doing so far. Above all, please pray for our children that they may, like the Child Jesus, grow in wisdom, age and grace during this school year and throughout their entire lives on this earth unto heaven. Here’s a prayer we can say to St. Joseph, Jesus’ Own foster father, for all God’s children:
O glorious St. Joseph, to you God committed the care of His only begotten Son amid the many dangers of this world. We come to you and ask you to take under your special pro-tection the children God has given us. Through holy baptism they became children of God and members of His Holy Church. We consecrate them to you today, that through this conse-cration they may become your foster children. Guard them, guide their steps in life, form their hearts after the hearts of Jesus and Mary.
St. Joseph, who felt the tribulation and worry of a parent when the child Jesus was lost, protect our dear children for time and eternity. May you be their father and counsellor. Let them, like Jesus, grow in age as well as in wisdom and grace before God and men. Pre-serve them from the corruption of his world, and give us the grace one day to be united with them in Heaven forever. Amen.
And, here’s a prayer you children can say to St. Joseph for guidance throughout your lives: St. Joseph, watch over me and care for me just as you cared for the child Jesus; and by your help, may I come to know your Son, and so grow in strength and wisdom and the favor of God. Amen. May God bless us all as we begin another year of forming our children in faith, knowledge and good works. Fr. Bart
La Escuela de San Odilo se Abre
Gracias a nuestro experto Director, Bill Donegan, y nuestro dedicado personal y facultad, nuestra escuela parroquial abrirá para la educación en vivo y en persona el próximo lunes, 17 de agosto. A través del santo bautismo se convirtieron en hijos de Dios y miem-bros de Su Santa Iglesia. Os los consagramos hoy, para que mediante esta consagración se con-viertan en vuestros hijos adoptivos. Guardarlos, guiar sus pasos en la vida, formar sus corazones según los corazones de Jesús y María.
San José, que sintió la tribulación y la preocupación de un padre cuando el niño Jesús se perdió, proteger a nuestros queridos hijos por el tiempo y la eternidad. Que seas su padre y conse-jero. Que ellos, como Jesús, crezcan en edad, así como en sabiduría y gracia ante Dios y los hom-bres. Preservarlos de la corrupción de su mundo, y darnos la gracia algún día para estar unidos con ellos en el Cielo para siempre. Amén.
Y, aquí hay una oración que los niños pueden decir a San José para que lo guíen a lo largo de
sus vidas: San José, cuídame y guíame, así como tú cuidaste del niño Jesús; y con tu ayuda, pueda lle-
gar a conocer a tu Hijo, y así crecer en fuerza y sabiduría y el favor de Dios. Amén. Que Dios nos bendiga a todos mientras comenzamos otro año de formar a nuestros hijos en
