• Involved in movement
• Bones make new blood cells and store minerals

Joints
• A joint is where two or more bones meet
Hinge joint (knee)
Ball and Socket joint (shoulder)
Connective Tissues (tissues that connect different things together)
Cartilage
• Cartilage – strong and
flexible tissue that provides cushioning at joints
Ligaments
• Ligaments – Strong cords that
connect bones at a joint

• Fractures – broken bone

• Dislocation – bone comes out of joint

ligaments

• Osteoporosis – Disease that makes bones weak, caused by lack of calcium, Vitamin D, and exercise

• THINK before taking a risk• Wear seat belt• Wear protective gear • Get enough calcium (milk)
