We cancelled our first meeting in January due to the bad weather and I am hoping we do not have to cancel anything else. We held polish Night on January 27 th and I would like to thank all that helped Eddie and I in the planning including our wives Rosemarie and Lisa who helped create such beautiful centerpieces and baskets as well as my sister in law Joanne and I would like to thank them for their creativity. To all the people that donated baskets including Pete and Marie Fife who gave us 3 baskets, Antonio’s catering for their beautiful basket , and to my brothers Anthony , Vincent and John Kuczinski for the baskets that they sent as well as anyone else who donated a basket. At the time of writing this message the party has not yet taken place so I do not have all the other info but will make it up next month. The right to life mass was held on Sunday, 01/21, and keep in mind that this is part of what we do as Knights and Columbiettes. The Night at the Races was another huge success and we would like to extend our thanks to all that helped especially Frank Corvino for his hard work and dedication along with Ed, John, Jim M and all others that were involved making it easier for us to obtain the funds to donate where we need to. Please check the bulletin for the upcoming events especially the superbowl party and the St. Patricks Dance both of which are in the bulletin. Have a great month and stay warm. Dear Brother Knights, Sister Columbiettes, Families and Friends,

We have made it through January and are looking forward to warmer weather but things were certainly

moving along this past month. We cancelled our first meeting in January due to the bad weather and I am

hoping we do not have to cancel anything else. We held polish Night on January 27th and I would like to

thank all that helped Eddie and I in the planning including our wives Rosemarie and Lisa who helped create

such beautiful centerpieces and baskets as well as my sister in law Joanne and I would like to thank them

for their creativity. To all the people that donated baskets including Pete and Marie Fife who gave us 3

baskets, Antonio’s catering for their beautiful basket , and to my brothers Anthony , Vincent and John

Kuczinski for the baskets that they sent as well as anyone else who donated a basket. At the time of writing

this message the party has not yet taken place so I do not have all the other info but will make it up next

month. The right to life mass was held on Sunday, 01/21, and keep in mind that this is part of what we do as

Knights and Columbiettes. The Night at the Races was another huge success and we would like to extend

our thanks to all that helped especially Frank Corvino for his hard work and dedication along with Ed, John,

Jim M and all others that were involved making it easier for us to obtain the funds to donate where we need

to. Please check the bulletin for the upcoming events especially the superbowl party and the St. Patricks

Dance both of which are in the bulletin. Have a great month and stay warm.

  • The Southern Knight February 2018

    From the Chaplain’s Desk

First of all a very Happy and Healthy New Year 2018 full of

Joy and Peace to all brother Knights .I would like to focus my New

    year message John 13:34

A new commandment I give you -Love One another just as I have

loved you. By this will all men know that you are my disciples -If

you have love for one another .

The instruction to love one another as I have loved you was

given the Twelve at the last Supper immediately after the foot -

washing, and needs to be understood in that context. It was a

restatement of the great twofold Commandment to love God and

neighbor, but with a new twist that made Christian

love even more specific and challenging. Christ taught not simply

by teaching, but by doing and then explaining what he did. He had

just abased himself by washing their feet. The new teaching after

the washing of feet is an example of the humble, self -negating,

sacrificial love Christians are to offer one another.

As a brother knight we are people to achieve real unity in the

way we think and feel , in the way we act and behave , in way we

trust and relate to one another ,and the way we share all we have ,

is the proof that we not only experience the presence of the great

love among us at some point ,but also that

we continue to experience it, and share that loving presence with

one another. Finally let us learn from the early Christians how they

were united in prayer and sharing their goods for common good of

their brothers and sisters. Let us follow our Lord Jesus Christ in this

year 2018 who is the light of the world, and let us continuously pray

for peace in our troubled world. God bless you all.

In the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Father Patrick Anthony
