THE SPIDER® SYSTEMFor Installation of Overhead Pulling Lines

The conventional method of installing a pulling line requires hanging "finger lines" at each pole. This involves much tying and untying while the pulling lines are "walked" through. Not only is extra labor involved, but the finger lines are left dangling and subject to overnight vandalism.

• Spider System eliminates finger lines, vandalism, and extra climbs

• Consists of a positive braking controller and a storage reel of rope that mount on the lead pole at any desired height.

• Once the controllers and storage reels are mounted on the lead pole, the lineman takes the pilot lines up with him and lays them in the stringing blocks as he frames the pole. After these lines are pulled out, they can be tied off under tension and left until time for stringing the conductor.

• When the pulling lines is ready to be installed, the same storage reel can be mounted on either a pole-mounted winch or on a line truck winch.

Spider System Kit Includes:• Pole Mount Controller (Cat. No. S-75-C)• Storage Reel (Cat. No. S-75-SR) • Rope (two lengths available)

Cat. No. S-75-C Can be mounted on wood poles with a simple lag screw or on non-wood poles with the adjustable chain tightener. The brake on the controller permits the storage reel to pay out the pilot line when the rope is pulled and engages when the rope is slack. This eliminates "backwinding" and holds tension during the installation of the pilot line.

Cat. No. S-75-WA Can be used with a line truck winch and an S-7500 Spider® reel to take up Spider® rope instead of using a puller outfitted with a hydraulic Spider® rewind. Manufactured out of steel and CNC precision machined for a more precise fit, this newer version has less "slop and lope" when pulling in the Spiderflex rope!
