Simon the Siamese

By Paige Huffman, Grade 5

“Hello! I’m Simon the Siamese cat.” Simon says.

“Hmm I want some milk.” Simon says looking at the kitchen. Simon leaped onto the counter, the refrigerator, and the oven, but no milk.

“Maybe I should look in the garden.” Simon thought. Simon ran as fast as his little legs could carry him. Simon jumped in the bushes, the dirt, and the flowers. Simon got all dirty, but no milk.

“Maybe when I get clean I can look in the bathroom,” Simon thought. Simon went upstairs and ran to the bathroom.

“Ouch!” Simon said. Simon bonked his head on the tub. He tackled the shower curtain

and toilet paper, but no milk. Simon pit patted down the stairs and went back to the living room.

“Oh!” Simon meowed. There was the milk in the middle of the living room.

“That was quite an adventure!”

The Night My Dogs Ate Ice

by Sanaya Telang, Grade 1

Dogs are special because they are loyal. My characters are my dogs who are named

SAISHA and STEELU.

One night SAISHA and STEELU were having some fun and I was also eating ice. We were

having lots of ice. I kept on getting lots of ice out. I have an ice thing that we push a button

for the ice to come out and it made a sound. That made me laugh.

My puppy SAISHA was running away from the ice when the ice was falling. STEELU was

watching SAISHA. I was watching her too. She did a gulp. That was funny. SAISHA was

hiding behind the wall when the ice was falling down. That happened in my kitchen.

The people who were there were my mom, my puppy, my dog and me and I stepped on

the ice pieces on the ground. The ice felt cold. I was smiling and laughing when I stepped

on the ice. The ice came from the refrigerator but the coldness from the refrigerator is

making ice. The refrigerator right by the cooker.

It was the cutest thing when SAISHA was hiding behind the kitchen wall. There was a

square kitchen wall. My dad was standing behind the square kitchen wall.
