The Stan Kenton Alumni Band Directed by Mike Vax Alumni of the Stan Kenton Orchestra, the Maynard Ferguson Orchestra, the Buddy Rich Band, the Woody Herman Orchestra, and other top name bands come together every year to tour the United States on the bus, just like the days of the Big Band Era. We perform mostly in high schools and colleges to keep the legacy of Stan Kenton's commitment to jazz education and to creative music alive, but also perform for jazz festivals, jazz societies, cruises, night clubs, private parties, conventions and dances.
