THE STATES There are 28 states

in India. Rajasthan is the

biggest state and Goa is the smallest.

WHEN INDIA BECAME INDEPENDENT AND REPUBLIC India became

Independent on 15 August, 1947.

India became a Republic on 26 January, 1950.

CENTRAL GOVERNMENT The government at

the central level is called central government.

STATE GOVERNMENT The government at

state level is called state government.

UNION TERITORIES Some parts of our

country are directly under control of the central government.

These are called union teritories.

THINGS TO REMEMBER India has a

population of over 100 crores .

There are 28 states and 7 union territories in india .

Delhi is the capital of india .

The central government is located in delhi.
