In some cases we may feel a child needs to be on two teams. For example they were on a level 3 team last season however, the coaches

feel they need to stay on a level 3 to max out their skills, but would benefit a level 4.2 learning new skills. In these cases we will contact

    parents to discuss.

    6. Understand and respect the differences between parental roles and coaching roles. Uphold the authority of coaches and staff who are working with your child. Assist them when possible and use good judgment if you disagree with them.

    7. Keep negative comments to yourself. Express concerns only to the coach and in a straightforward, fair, and objective manner. Inform the coaches of issues and conflicts as soon as they arise.

    8. Focus on performance which can be controlled by the athlete and not on winning or losing an outcome which is frequently outside the athlete’s control. Positively reinforce improved skills.

    9. Decrease the pressure to win; avoid making the outcome of the competition bigger than life. Make sure your children know that, win or lose, you will love them even if you are disappointed with their performance.

    10. Help your child set realistic goals. Sport’s primary value is the opportunity for self-development. The probability of achieving lasting fame and glory is low; however, their experiences allow them to develop life-long values and self-esteem.

    11. If you need assistance or answers to anything, please contact us!

    12. Do not make assumptions about anything. Always ask. 13. Attitude is everything. If an athlete has a foul attitude, we will place him/ her to a non-competitive program, such as a class, until im-provements are made. Until then, a replacement will be put in position.

    14. Do not call or text the staff unless it is an emergency. The staff needs to have their personal time away from work. Thank you in advance for respecting this rule.

    15. Siblings of athletes cannot come inside the gym and watch practice unattended. An adult in the viewing room must supervise them. We cannot baby-sit.

    16. No one is allowed to yell onto the floor or make contact through the viewing room window. 17. You cannot create or sell your own Stingray clothing. Our name and LOGO is copyrighted. All ideas for apparel must be emailed and ap-proved by management. This includes clothing with team names, or any insinuation of relationship with Stingray All Stars

    18. The only people allowed in the gym are staff members and athletes that are on the Team Rosters. Parents, friends, relatives and siblings must remain in the viewing room.

    19. Anyone threatening to quit will be asked to leave immediately. No refund will be given.

    20. Your opinion regarding practice and routine construction does not count. The staff makes all of the decisions. 21. Do not gossip about other teams, parents, other gyms or kids. Again, if you have a questions. ASK, rather than listen to non-sense or engage in irresponsible conduct.

    22. It is the parent’s responsibility to stay informed. Check your email and website regularly. If you aren’t receiving emails, contact the Gym Director ASAP.

    23. A $25 fine and conditioning will result in an unexcused absence. Absences must be cleared by the Head Coach and signed off by Head Coach.

    24. Coaches/Directors reserve the right to close practices at any time. This only occurs if the viewing room becomes negative or distracting.

    25. Withholding your child from practice cannot be used as a form of discipline. This is unfair to the rest of the team. 26. Do not post negative comments, routines or music on message boards, You Tube or any website. 27. No profanity or rude language. 28. Practice schedules can change. We will ALWAYS add practices before a competition. Especially 2 weeks prior to. Leave your schedule open before each event!

    29. We want to make sure the line of communication is open. However, there is an appropriate time. Email or call the gym to make an ap-pointment. If you have questions, please use the following chain of command: Band Manager > Gym Director/ Front Desk > Head Coach > Owner

    GENERAL PARENT POLICIES

  • TEAM/ATHLETE POLICIES Punctuality

PRACTICE- While we understand that unforeseen circumstances happen, they don’t happen every day. So please, don’t be late PERIOD!

Athlete’s are given a 5 minute grace period before they are considered tardy however, if we notice a pattern that they are always

walking in the door 1 minute before that grace period is up we will remove this curtesy. The 5 minute grace period is ONLY FOR WEEK-

DAY practices as we understand that work, traffic and other factors can come into play however there is ZERO excuse for a tardiness

during a weekend practice. Athlete’s who are later than 5 minutes will cost their team a 2 mile penalty.

COMPETITION- You will be provided a meet time prior to each event which is usually 90 minutes prior to warm up time. Failure to be

on time will result in possible suspension from the next event. A repeated offense will result in immediate removal from the program. A

5-10 minute grace period to allow for unexpected circumstances will be allotted . Anything above that will be considered disrespectfully

    tardy.

    Attendance

Attendance is crucial to team success. All absences must be approved by the Team’s contact coach.

An Absence Request Form must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the absence. DO NOT email or fax absence request forms.

A completed form does not automatically excuse the absence. Absences must be approved. We will verify with school administration

and the teaching staff if we think that someone is being dishonest. Be prepared to show documentation from a teacher or instructor.

For school related absences. Your child will be removed from the team immediately if the request is falsified.

Absences are not permitted the week of competition.

    A no-call/no show to a practice will result in a $25 fine.

Students are allowed up to 4 absences for family vacations during the months of May-August. These absences may be in conjunction

with any additional gym closure dates. Those dates can be found in the “Gym Closure” section of this packet.

    Please plan accordingly.

Additional absences will jeopardize an athlete’s placement on their respective teams.

After school is back in August, the only excused absence is a school function that results in a grade. All other absences are unexcused.

Part-time jobs, dances, concerts, banquets, long distance driving, family reunions, weddings, recitals, school/church socials, and any

other nonrelated school activities are unexcused. Athletes are allowed ONE unexcused absence per season.

An unexcused absence may result in the athlete being moved to an alternate position or pulled from an upcoming performance at the

discretion of the staff. Athletes who exceed 1 unexcused absences will be immediately removed from the program without a refund.

It is the responsibility of the athlete to learn any changes prior to practices.

PRACTICES MISSED 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO A COMPETITION WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TERMINATION FROM THE TEAM

Sick/Injury Policy/Crossovers Athletes must attend practice when they are sick (UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED CONTAGIOUS BY A DOCTOR). Students are

    often removed from our program for failing to follow this rule. We will not make exceptions. they may not be required to participate;

however, they must be present. An athlete will jeopardize their position if this rule is not followed.

Extended sickness such as Mono or Strep throat will jeopardize an athlete’s position on the team. In the event that a student is injured

at home or during other extracurricular activities, we ask that you please notify us as soon as possible. Please do not leave messages of

this nature on our message service. You should call the gym and the team representative to get the necessary information to the coach-

es. We will make changes with choreography prior to practicing. We will re-choreograph routines based on the person’s injury and

length of recovery. Once the individual has fully recovered, he or she may or may NOT be choreographed back into the routine. The

coaches have complete discretion in replacing such individuals for the rest of the season. All injured athletes must continue to pay their

    monthly tuition.

    Team Practices

Parents are allowed to watch practices however, should it ever become distracting to the individual athlete or the team or should we

feel that parents are engaging in negative behavior we do reserve the right to close all practices to parents!

Athletes are not allowed to arrive any earlier than 15 minutes prior to their schedule practice (unless previously cleared by a coach).

Athletes who are dropped off at the gym any earlier than that will be charged a $25.00 babysitting fee. Furthermore, this fee will also

be applied for athletes are not picked up within a reasonable amount of time after their practice has ended.

There is to be NO JEWELRY worn at practices, which includes all earrings, belly button rings, and necklaces. This is not simply for

appearance sake, but for the safety to the one wearing the jewelry and for those either flying or basing who might be injured as a

    result.

All CELL PHONES should be turned OFF and collected during practice times. Also, please do not bring your family PETS to practices at

    the gym!

There is to be NO GUM whatsoever at practices or competitions. Any TATTOOS must be covered at all times!

our program is about building champions and teaching responsibility to our athletes and this starts with discipline.

    Code of Conduct

A member must at all times be a strong representative of The Stingray All stars and a positive reflection of his/her teammates. Abusive

behavior, lying, and or any other form of negative behavior are grounds for removal from this team. We will not tolerate comments

about other teams and their programs. Let’s respect their teams, as we will get respect in return. Many of you communicate with

other cheerleaders at various organizations through e-mail, Facebook, GroupME, Twitter and message boards. Please remember that

anything you ever say is a direct reflection on this organization.

NOTE: If athletes are caught sending rude or inappropriate messages on SOCIAL MEDIA, they will be subject to immediate removal!

Teammates are expected to treat one another with mutual respect. They should treat and talk to one another in a manner in which

they want to be spoken to. We do not tolerate pettiness, gossiping or cliques; which attempt to exclude or alienate certain members.

Back talk, rolling of eyes and any other disrespect for instructors or teammates is unacceptable. After a warning, the team member will

sit out of practice until the problem is solved. A problem between a student and staff member will first be addressed between the

owners. If not solved, a parent will be notified of the problem or infraction of the rules and will be expected to assist the instructor in

solving the problem. A parent should never reprimand or discipline someone else’s child. We will handle any disciplinary problems

    privately and professionally.
