BACKGROUND
The province of Jakarta and West Java have been developed as the mainindustrial areas in Indonesia especially the northern part of West Java.
Since the economy of these regions are driven not only by the industrial growthbut also its total population which almost reached 40 million people as the marketfor incoming cargoes.for incoming cargoes.
At present, the prot of Tg Priok has reached its maximum capacity especially forcontainer cargoes (incoming and outgoing cargoes), by which the government hasbeen pushed to prepare its future plan to anticipate its ever growing demand.
Port of Tg Priok has been functioned as the hub for Indonesia which is supportedby the economy of its hinterland (Province of Jakarta and West Java).

• The development cost of reclaimed terminal is about 15trillion rupiahs while the connecting road of about 2 kmlength (flyover) from the land side to the terminal willneed at least 3 trillion rupiahs.

• It will reduce the burden of Tg Priok in container traffichandling of about 30-40% of its total volume, and itmeans the congestion in the outer ring road of Jakartacan be delayed much longer for the benefit of the peopleof Jakarta.
The development of Marunda Terminal (AliSadikin Terminal)
• The development cost is about 7 Trillion rupiahs.
• This terminal is expected to support the EconomicSpecial Zone of Marunda Development.

CONCLUSION
• The consequences that might happen within the city of Jakarta mustbe taken into consideration for the devopment of Port of Tg Priokespecially to the capacity of access road which will be used also byinternal movements and circulation by the people of Jakarta and itssurrounding areas.

• The transporters also want to utilize their truck more efficiently togenerate the profit and reduce the transport cost for the benefit oftheir customers.
• The enviromental aspect is also very important since the trafficcongestion in the near future is really unacceptable or unexpectedafter the completion of the outer ring road construction.

• The problem of lack of capacity in the port of Tg Priokcan be solved with much less of fund needed and at thesame time it will prolong the utilization of the existingterminal and bring much time to consolidate the processof optimizing the utilization of the terminal.of optimizing the utilization of the terminal.
• It will also extend the benefit of the people of Jakarta inusing their new outer ring road without being interruptedby the incoming and outgoing trucks generated by thegrowing of the container traffic volume in the nearfuture.
