Pierce. M. D. Buffalo, N. Y. : Dear Sir I had suffered from Catarrh in an aggravated form for about twelve years and lor several years from Bron- chial trouble. Tried many doctors and things with no lasting benefit. In May, '72, becoming neafr worn out with York City, I was attacked with Bron- chitis in a severe form, smsring almost a total loss of voice. I reused home here, but had been home oIy two weeks when I was completely prostra- ted with Hemorrhage from the Lungs, having four severe bleeding spells wi Hi in two weeks, first three inside of mi days. In the September following, I improved sufficiently to be able to be about, though in a very feeble state. My Bronchial trouble remained and the Catarrh was tenfold worse than before. Every effort for relief seemed fruitless. I seemed to be losing ground daily. I coutinued in this feeble state, inising blood almost daily until about the first of March, '73, when I became so bad as to be entirely confined to the house. A friend snggestcd your remedies. Bnt I was extremely skeptical that they would do me good, as I had lost all heart in remedies, and began to look upon medicine and doctors with dis- gust. However, I obtained one of your circulars, and read It carefully, from which I came to the conclusion that you understood your business, at least. I finally obtained a qnantlty of Dr. Sage's Catarrh Remedy, your Golden Medical Discovery and Pellets, and commenced their vicorous use according to direc- tions. To my surprise I soon began to Improve. The Discovery and Pellets, ki a short time, brought out a severe eruption, which continued for several ytfeks. l felt mucn better, my appetite mproved, and I gained In strength and flesh. In three months every vestnge of the Catarrh was gone, the Bronchitis had nearly disappeared, had no Cough whatever and I had entirely ceased to raise blood, and, contrary tohe expec- tation of some of my friends, tbo cure bos remained permanent. 1 have had no more Hemorrhages from the Lungs, and am entirely free from Catarrh, from which I 'had suffered so much and so long. A great many cases were dls posed of, as will be seen by reference to court proceedings. The weather in December and this part of January has been remarkably mild so much so that 'doors and win dows could bo left open day and night with perfect convenience. At 8 r. m, Dec. 30, wo were visited by a storm.ac-corapanie- d by heavy thunder and light- ning nnd rain. On the first day of the year the cround was covered with a thin coat of snow, which vanished lrom sight as soon as the .sun shone upon it. Our New Year's turkey was raised in King Grove under the auspices of 'Squire Eb. Rozell and onr landlady (who, by common consent governs the kitchen and we the printing, office) says it was a very fine turkey. Dr. Jason S. Bumps ot Forbes, charged with having caused the death of Mary Donahcr by abortion, was, on the 4th of January, surrendered by his bondsmen. The court fixed his new bond at $8,000, in default ot which the Doctor had to take lodging in the coun ty jail. Mr. Moses Bennett, our excellent brick maker, wishes to raakc.tbe follow- ing announcement :Partles who contem plate using brick the coming season will de well to call on him between now and the first of March, and enter into contract for brick, as he will make brick on contract only.
